Golden: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Golden

I'm a college student, I have two kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of two young boys. I am a college student and I work part time doing construction while I am in school. I love to spend time with my family and I take any chance I get to spend time in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Chuch because I have felt of God's love through his spirit and knew that there was a greater reason for being on this earth than just existing. I studied and prayed about the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and the truthfulness of the Church. I received answers to prayers and know that these things are true and that Heavenly Father lives, loves us, and has created avenues to bless our lives. I am a Mormon because I have a burning within me that the Church and its teachings are true, and that this hectic life is made easier by being obedient to the commandments that God gives us.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

The Church has 3 main missions. They are to teach the gospel to everyone, help each member come closer to Christ, and to redeem the dead. Each member has the responsibility to help in each of these areas. Because of my position in the church now, my main responsibility is to help other members come closer to the savior in their personal lives. I help to encourage and teach other men about the gospel. However, teaching others who aren't members of the Church is always on my mind and I am always looking to share what I feel to be true. I also help to redeem the dead, which means performing baptisms and other ordinances for those who have passed on but haven't learned about the full gospel of Jesus Christ. We perform these ordinances in our temples.

How I live my faith

I would say that I live my faith mainly in the way that I live my life. I'm not perfect by any means, but I try to follow the counsel of one of our prophets who said, "Live your life so that those who know you, but don't know Christ, will want to know Christ because they know you." I try to follow the example of the Savior by serving in my local congregation, treating others with love and respect, and trying to reach out to others who are in need.
