I am a Network Engineer working for a non-profit Mental Health organization. I have been married to my sweetheart for more than 20 years. We have 5 teenage boys and love it. I love to Snowboard and play Volleyball. I love to meet and interact with new people.
I have been a Mormon my entire life but that doesn't mean I haven't had questions. Everyone has to be converted and accept Christ as thier Savior whether you are born a Mormon or not. I didn't know this church is Christ's church until shortly before I went on a mission to Honduras. I had to read the Book of Mormon and the Bible just like everyone else and pray to know if they are true. I remember being on my knees when I was about 17 asking Father in Heaven to let me know if the Book of Mormon was a true book of scripture. My chest felt warm and I had goosebumps up my back. My spirit felt the Holy Ghost touch me and tell me unequivically that this Church is true and that the Book of Mormon is true. I have studied the Bible along with the Book of Mormon and together they have given me a stronger knowledge and testimony that Christ is my Big Brother, my Savior and Redeemer, and that only through Him can I be be forgiven of my sins and be made whole. Only through Him can I return to live with my Eternal Father in Heaven along with my entire earthly family. I love Him with all my being and long to be welcomed into His arms. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is setforth on the same principles that was established by Him when He dwelt on earth 2000 years ago. He leads and guides it by revelation through His Prophet and Apostles that live on earth today.
Throughout my life, I have had many opportunities to serve. I was a Boy Scout as a teenager and learned to serve my neighbor and community. I served a mission in Honduras for 18 months where I learned to love the Latino culture and people. I have served as a teacher for 4-11 year olds and love to see how they grasp the simple teachings of Jesus Christ. There is nothing more pure than the love of a child for Christ. I worked in the Youth organization that allowed me to go camping with my sons and teach them to love the outdoors. I learned to respect the youth and help them to love thier Savior. I served as a counselor in the Men's organization which helped take care of the members of the congregation. Living in a military community for 21 years, I was able to help many people move, my family brought in dinners for families with sick parents, served in the community by cleaning roadways, collected food for Food Banks, and gained a love for others that only comes through serving them. I am now a counselor to our Pastor and am gaining a better understanding of how Christ leads and guides this church through promptings from the Holy Ghost. What an amazing experience it is to be God's hands as I follow His guidance as I help His children draw closer to Him and find the happiness He can bring them.
