Hi, I'm Katie
I'm loving life on the east coast. I'm currently getting my Master's in Social Work. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Now I'm attending grad school to get my Master's in Social Work and... I LOVE IT! I love my hot husband, photography, Chinese food, the color orange, homemade ice cream, making things, sparklers, playing sports, Italian sodas, and demolition derbies. I believe laughter is the best medicine and that life is meant to be enjoyed.
Why I am a Mormon
Because I know it is true. I am a Mormon because I know I am a child of God. He hears and continually answers my prayers. I am His daughter and He loves and cares about me. Heavenly Father knows me individually; He knows my worries, my joys, my trials, and the deepest desires of my heart. He loves and knows you as well. I am a Mormon because I want to live in a way that I can return back to live with our Heavenly Father and be welcomed by His loving embrace.
Personal Stories
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
My knowledge of the Plan of Happiness has brought me so much comfort in my life. I have an older brother that passed away when he was only 6 months old. I never had the chance to meet him in this world. I know that Bradley is in heaven and I know that I will get to meet him someday. When I think of that day, my heart is filled with complete joy and happiness - I think it might explode. I know that there is more to life than just this mortal experience. Families really are forever.
What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?
My husband and I have developed greater harmony in our home by praying to Heavenly Father together every morning and night. I say the prayer one night and he says it the next. We express our gratitude to God for the many blessings we have been given and then we ask Him for specific help or guidance we may need in our lives. By coming to God in humble prayer together, we become united. We learn of one another's concerns and we reestablish the importance of God in our marriage. God hears and answers our prayers. Prayer is truly a gift.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by teaching the 3 year old's in our congregation with my husband. We teach them about choosing the right, praying to our Father in Heaven, obeying their parents, being a good example, that they are children of God and that He loves them, and much more. I love teaching the kids and helping them learn more about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
