Tyson: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Tyson

I am a devoted husband. I am a working college student. I love sports, and I enjoy being around friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student working my way through school. I am married to a wonderful woman. I am busy, and I work hard, but I am happy. I enjoy by spending time with family and friends, and I really enjoy small things like watching baseball, or any other type of athletic event. I'm doing the best I can to balance work, and school, and relationships with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have read and prayed about The Book of Mormon. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, I have come to know of it's truthfulness. By gaining this testimony, I also received the witness that Joseph Smith was the prophet that God called in these latter days to restore His gospel. I am a Mormon because I want to be a Mormon.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

I find that attending my church meeting regularly helps me to start the week on a strong note. It's a sort of spiritual boost that helps me get through my busy week.

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

A mission is an 18 month to 2 year committment to serve the Lord and our fellow man. In order to be found worthy and able to do missionary service, one must participate in two interviews with ecclesiastical leaders, and have a series of medical checkups to ensure that the individual is physically and spiritually fit to serve. Once finished with the application process, the application is reviewed by the leaders of the Church, and an area is selected for that prospective missionary. the prospective missionary then reports to a Mission Training Center, to learn skills, and if necessary the basics of a new language. The missionary is then sent to report for full time proselyting work at his/her destination.
I was blessed to be able to serve in Chicago, Illinois. I also was able to teach the gospel in the Spanish language. I learned many important skills and principles, but the most important thing I learned was how to love my fellow man, and give all that I can to help him/her come to know of the love our Heavenly Father has for each of His children.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of my ward, or congregation. I try my best to attend all church activities. I also try very hard never to complain or murmur about church responsibilities.
