Nestor: family, love, grandchildren, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Nestor

A friend said to me," I didn't know there were hispanic mormans". Yes, I am a Morman.

About Me

I am a husband, father, grand father, and Middle school teacher. I enjoy jogging, reading, and studying the scriptures. Life requires constant learning. I enjoy life, ergo I enjoy learning.

Why I am a Mormon

After many years in other congregations and religions, I finally found one that urges me to ask questions, seek answers and communicate with my creator for revelations.

Personal Stories

Could you talk about your baptism?

Baptism is a sacred event in my life. At the age of 34, I finally took the first step on the path back to my heavenly father.

How has attending Church services helped you?

Attending church each Sunday is like a spiritual rechargeing of my soul. We live in tumultuous times and we need the help of our brothers and sisters to see us through the trials of life. Our congregations are called Ward Families because like families we love, help and suppor each other.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I now truly know that God loves all his children. He is not just a God of the Jews. The Book of Mormon confirms that Jesus taught the early inhabitants of the Americas after his reserection. He loves us All.

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Last week my cell phone "fried". I took it to my carrier and they told me they had to order a replacement since my style was back ordered. It will take 3 to 5 days. Then it came in and it was defective. I realized how disconnected it felt to not have a phone. Prayer is like that. If I can't communicate with my Father, I feel disconnected. He loves me and I want him and need him.

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

It's like eating a luscious, decadent desert. You eat and enjoy till you are full, but the joy you feel while indulging, stays with you and soon you want more. It is the same with the right choices in life. I feel the spirit when doing right and I want to feel that over and over again. I guess one could say, it is addicting, in a good way. I love my Heavenly Father and I want to serve Him. This gives me joy.

How I live my faith

In my church, alot of focus is placed on knowing where one comes from ( ancestry). I have begun searching my roots and have been facinated in what I have learned. I also enjoy sharing the gospel with friends and co-workers of other faiths.
