Hi, I'm Corban Lindsay
I grew up in Idaho. I am married, I am a new father, I'm a Graphic Designer and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I grew up in Meridian, Idaho. Right now I am married, going to have a baby girl in February and I am still going to school. I am a graphic design major, learning to create logo's, stationary, web sites and every thing that is creative.
Why I am a Mormon
I have grown up as a member of the church; however, I would say that each of us that has grown up in the church still needs to gain their own testimony of the truthfulness of the this gospel. My testimony has always grown out doing the things that were asked of me. From reading the Book of Mormon and Bible, to helping others, to just being honest. Each of these times I feel a burning in my chest, it is a very comforting feeling. This feeling can only come from one source and that is from the Holy Ghost, or the Holy Spirit. A personage of spirit that testifies the truthfulness of God, our Saviour Jesus Christ and of his holy prophets. The Holy Ghost is also been there for me when I needed comfort. Also as I have prayed to God and have asked him if the Book of Mormon is true, that same spirit has come and gave me warmth and I knew for myself that it was true. I know that Jesus is the Christ, our saviour and redeemer. That he calls upon prophets in our day, one of those being Joseph Smith who brought to us the translation of the Book of Mormon. I know also that as we do what our saviour asks of us, are lives will be blessed and joyful. That is why I am a Mormon.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
For starters we believe that we have a living Prophet on the earth today, and he has said that all worthy young men should serve a mission. Not only that, it is a chance to serve others, to teach what you believe in and to come closer to our Savior. I served my mission in the Canada Vancouver mission, where I went all over the province of British Columbia and served the people there. It was such a testimony builder that our Heavenly Father watches over us and not only that but that he knows us personally and individually.
How I live my faith
I strive to read my scriptures every day along with praying, with my family and having personal prays as well. I have had many responsibilities in my church, from helping our Bishops to schedule people to talk to. To teaching 14 year olds every sunday from the scriptures. I also have gone and talked with other members in their homes, in what we call hometeaching, we share a lesson and see if there is anything we can do to help the family out. That is another aspect of our church that I always want to get better at and that is helping others because when you help others it feels your soul with joy and hopefully you have brought joy to that person as well.
