Vanessa: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Vanessa

I'm a loud, boisterous person who loves to laugh at herself and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother to 4 children in my off time. They are my life. Everything I do it is for them. Currently I work teaching pre-k to 22 four year olds. In my down time I love to quilt and read. I enjoy life and do not apologize for it. I want to enjoy each moment and live it to it's fullest. I am happy. Whenever I need to relive extra stress I cook. I don't really like to eat what I cook so I give away a lot of my food. Maybe that says something about my cooking. Ha! I'm very straight forward and say what I think. I love to laugh and don't like to be serious. I believe that we were sent to have joy in this life so I do.

Why I am a Mormon

In my studies I've been able to gain a deeper understanding of God's love for me. Through learning His plan, I've been able to see my potential as a daughter of God. With the understanding that this gospel gives me I am able to have an increased love and sense of peace in my life. With the knowledge of the gospel I am able to see the miracles God has placed in my life. I see his love for me and I see the pathway I can travel and have true happiness.

This gospel gives me peace. Throughout my life there have been times that would have felt overwhelming without the perspective of the gospel. The knowledge that our loving Heavenly Father sent His Son for me has lifted the burden on my shoulders many of time. To know of His love for me personally is a gift that I am incredibly grateful for. This knowledge and love is something I would love to share with everyone so that their burdens may be light, that they too may have joy.

Personal Stories

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

Over the course of the last 6 years I have been working and supporting my husband as he goes through medical school and now residency. It has not been an easy road to travel. At times we have had no food in our cupboards, suffered from depression, and been without the immediate support of family. Throughout it all though one thing has kept dispair and angst away. That has been my faith in Jesus Christ. You see I BELIEVE the scriptures when they said that Christ took upon himself all of our suffering. In doing so He KNOWS me. He knows my hurts, he knows my sadness, he KNOWS. It has been that simple knowledge that pulled me through those rough times. He KNOWS the ache in my heart as I have to leave my sick infant son at daycare while I go work to help with the bills. It is through that faith that I know blessing have come into my life. He KNOWS what I need when I need it. He knew when we needed those bags of food or the random clothing that arrived in the mail for our children. He knew that I needed my boss to come to me with my son saying "I just thought you needed to go hold your baby for a while." Because He KNOWS he has spoken to other people's heart to bless my life. Jesus KNOWS me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith knowing that we are all coming to this life having a different knowledge of God and His gospel. The way I live is to show others God's love for them through my actions. I want others to feel how special they are as children of God, regardless of location or position in life. I want everyone with whom I associate to know that I have something special. I have knowledge of God's love and his purpose in mine and their lives. We are all children of a God who loves us. Once we realize that divine heritage we can begin to partake of the great blessings God has in store for us. I live my life trying to show people how special they are.
