About Me

I'm married to my childhood sweetheart and we are blessed with 3 children and 2 grandchildren. I retired from the military and now working in a local college. I still take classes hoping to finish my Master's degree someday and I love gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

I was in my early twenties when I became really serious about religion. I often wondered if there is really a God and if we really continue to live after this earthly life. I received answers to these questions and many more when two American missionaries came to share me the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm thankful for the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me and that He knows me by name. I know that the heavens are open again and that God continues to reveal His divine will to man through His living prophets.

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

After reading the Book of Mormon several times, I know, through the power of the Holy Spirit, that it is the the word of God. It is impossible that an uneducated young man as Josepth Smith was, can come up with such information. I know that he saw our Heavnely Father and His only begotten Son in that sacred grove. He was persecuted and paid the ultimate price. I'm eternally thankful for his courage and obedience to our Heavenly Father's will. I know that he was and is a prophet of God, and he was God's instrument in the restoration of His Church in these latter-days.

How I live my faith

A great prophet and king said, "When you are in the service of your fellow-being, you are only in the service of your God". As I do my job at work, I always take the opportunity to do the best I can in making a diferrence in the lives of those I serve. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "If ye love me, follow my commandments". Each day I strive to be a good example to my family and everyone I associate with by following His examples and the counsels of His prophets.

    We believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. This is an essential nature of the plan of salvation. Families are so important and children can and are only meant to be brought into this world through a man and woman together. This is how God created us. We acknowledge the attractions or inclinations individuals may have, but God has made us to have male/female relationships. We love all of our brothers and sisters. We are all God's children and we should treat each other as such, with love and kindness, but we cannot and will not encourage same-sex relations. We believe in Gay rights and tolerance, as described by Dallin H. Oaks, but will always define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
