Hi, I'm Janna.
I'm a Californian who loves palm trees and the beach. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I love music. A wide variety of it too, thanks to my Dad and three older brothers' musical interests. My entire life, my brothers have always been in bands and I've attended many of their gigs. I play the piano too (both by sight and ear), but not like my Dad (who plays strictly by ear and could put a Nordstrom pianist to shame). There's nothing like seeing a concert pianist perform. I also love musicals and live performances (bands, orchestras, solo artists and a capella groups).
Why I am a Mormon
I am a fifth generation Latter-day Saint (on both sides of my family). My great-great-grandfather was the first man baptized in England. I am a Mormon because I personally know the Church is true (not just relying on my ancestors' beliefs). I know God and Jesus Christ live, and They know and love me.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
Mormons go on missions to share the Gospel message with people all over the world. I served a full-time (18 months) mission in Spain. I taught people from all over the world about the Church, Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, etc. which in turn helped strengthen my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will always be grateful to the Mormon missionaries who taught my ancestors (on both sides of my family), baptized them and helped them gain testimonies of Jesus Christ.
How I live my faith
Right now I am serving as the president of a local chapter of the Church's women's worldwide organization. It is my job to teach, guide, inspire and look after both the temporal and spiritual well-being of 40+ young single adult women (ages 18-30). As I serve, I love the young single adult women more, and also feel closer to my Savior.
