Leilani: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Leilani

I love chocolate, wearing flip flops, and watching old movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of five, married to my high school sweetheart and I love my crazy, chaotic life. My kids make me laugh everyday, which makes up for all of the frustrating things they do, too (kind of).
I love to read a good book outside, run, bike, play the piano and listen to good music (classical to country to alternative).

Why I am a Mormon

Being a mormon makes me happy. We are here on earth to learn how to truly be happy and I've found that through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Lord has never failed me. He always answers my prayers, not in a wish-granting-get-what-I-want-kind of way, but in a loving-what-will-be-eternally-best-for-me kind of way. I pray for help, and it is always given, through the people around me, through picking up the scriptures and reading something that was written just for me or through a thought or feeling that comes into my mind and heart.
I know Jesus Christ is my personal savior, that he suffered and died for me and that someday I can live with Him again, together with my family. For me there is no greater joy than that.

How I live my faith

I teach the woman in my ward once a month during out women's meeting. I love teaching because I get so much out of it.
I also help organize the Visiting Teaching in my ward. It is such a great program--basically we are all paired up with a friend and given the responsibility to watch out for a few of the other sisters in our area. We pray for them, visit them and become friends and are there for any needs that may arise--like a chocolate emergency--bad day with no chocolate in the house--we'll be right there!
Mostly I just try to be the best person I can be. And give others and myself the benefit of the doubt--we are all doing the best we can with what we've been given. We don't need to judge each other. As Mother Teresa said, "If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
