David: Mormon.

Hi, I'm David

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just got married this past year in June (and am loving it!). I'm currently a student and am in my last year, studying neuroscience to become a maxillofacial surgeon. I play soccer, love finances and investments, and dream of having a dog. I play laser tag like nobody's business, and the chore I hate the most is doing the dishes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. Even though my family was not very active in the Church when I grew up, I always knew it was true. When I turned 19, I knew without question that I was going to serve a mission. Since, I have continued to unceasingly grow in my knowledge of this gospel, and of the joy it has brought and continues to bring into my life. It is both a comfort and a strength to surely know that no matter what situation I find myself in, I have a father in heaven who loves me, who listens to me, and who cares. Knowing there is a way back to him adds meaning to my life.

Personal Stories

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

I know that for me, it was not always easy to just "make the right choice." I didn't grow up in the typical Mormon household, and because of that, I had to consciously make choices that others might have just done because it was second nature. The first example of this was when I chose to go on a mission. Once I decided to, it was easier to continue making the kinds of decisions that I might not have otherwise--like reading the scriptures every day, praying, attending church, and even getting married. Even now, the more often that I find myself making good decisions, the easier it is in the future for me to choose the next "right choice."

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the simple things. I strengthen my knowledge of the gospel every day by reading the Book of Mormon or the Bible or what our leaders have had to say; I pray every morning and night and commune with my father in heaven throughout the day. I find it is in the little things--in taking a moment not to be taken in by the rush and tumble of the world--that I find my Savior, and that I find that I can follow him.
