I live in a small rural town in Eastern Wyoming. I work with children and families. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, rollerblading and working with pictures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. I decided long ago to find out if it is true. It has blessed my life tremendously and for that reason, I continue to follow its precepts.

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I use the Book of Mormon to enlighten my day by reading it for 30 minutes in the morning. It has given me direction to know how to treat others and how to find answers to my prayers.

How I live my faith

I love to be involved with all aspects of the church. It has helped me when I moved to different areas of the country where I did not know anyone. Currently, I serve in 2 positions both working with and strengthening single adults in my area and a few others in Nebraska.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I help everyone! It doesn't matter to me if someone else doesn't believe as I do. We are all children of the same God and Christ taught us to be kind to everyone. It is like a primary song that says, "Jesus said love everyone. Treat them kindly too. When your heart is filled with love, others will love you." Show more Show less

Not the Mormons I know! Of course one of our responsibilities as Mormons is to try to help the members of our church any way that we can. But Jesus taught that we must love everyone, and that means helping out people even if they're not members of our faith. Our church has made very large humanitarian donations after natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the Asian tsunami of 2004, and many other catastrophes. A couple years I worked with a large church youth group that did a beautification project at a public park in my hometown. Another time our church group spread gravel and did cleanup at a nearby equestrian trail. Jesus taught often about service, and it is an important part of our religion. Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

This is more than just instinct. We are indeed eternal beings whose origin is before the creation of the earth. And one of the things we come to earth to do is to find a companion, not only for this mortal existence, but for eternity as well. God has provided the place, the Temple of the Lord, and the authority, the power to seal things on earth and in heaven. So that eternal relationships can be established here and enjoyed after this life is done. Do I believe it? I feel certain that these principles are true. The Holy Ghost confirms that to my spirit.
