Juanita : Mormon.

Hi, I'm Juanita

I grew up in the island of Guam, I helped care for foster children. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hello, my name is Juanita, I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, my interests are, caring for the needs of others. My children were just 6, 4, & 3, & of course not to mention my husband, it was pretty hard traveling on a greyhound bus from the west coast to the southeast with only $50.00 in our pockets. My husband got his job, 3 weeks after we got to our destination & I got my first job as a waitress in a Italian Restaurant. Now, I am currently working in retail for 21yrs. I am persuing a career as a pharmacy technician or in medical billing & coding whatever the Lord wants me to do. I love to cook, I love to care for my autistic son, I love to invite the missionaries over in my home, & so as my husband loves to cook for the missionaries like they are our very own children. Although he is not yet a member but we're working on it.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon, as I have prayed & pondered on the Book of Mormon for four hours to really absorb in my thick head, of course I was. I nearly killed myself when my husband lost his job in 2002 & six months later our funds depleted. So, I called my daughter who is already a member since 1998. I got an appointment with the Bishop, so I got to start taking the discussions & got Baptized on 3 May 2003.

Personal Stories

Could you talk about your baptism?

Baptism is a very important subject, it is to benefit ourselves as for Jesus Christ himself got baptized by John the Baptist. Jesus Christ is a great example to all of us, this is a lesson to repent of all our sins & be closer to our Savior.

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

I know that Joseph Smith is the true prophet of God the Father, I know that what he saw in the grove was Jesus Christ & Heavenly Father I know that in my heart this is very real. My heart & soul knows it by the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

In many situations, I have experienced the promptings of the Holy Ghost on especially doing the right thing in life for example one day, I had to apologize to this person I have offended, I told her I can't serve Jesus Christ right if I have this anger harbored in my soul. I told her I was sorry, & she also appologised I wasn't expecting her to say as well, didn't think she would. That's why I know that the Holy Ghost is always good to heed to his promptings that's where you get your blessings along with "faith."

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

Genealogy work is very important to us because God promised us that we will be able to be with our loved ones for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith to the fullest, as long as I continue to help others in need then I am fulfilling my calling. I try to bring investigators to church even if they don't feel up to it, I move on to the next one.
