About Me

I am the Mom of five wonderful children. I am a meat cutter but hold a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Administration. I enjoy reading, serving others and spending time with my children. I love family home evenings and hanging out with the missionaries. I am a Ward Missionary and teacher and love to spend time helping anyone in need. My favorite place to be is in Church or with other people who share my passion for the faith. My favorite hobby is family history work. I love to fish and enjoy writing, teaching, and singing. WE GOT MARRIED IN THE TEMPLE March 5th.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I think I was always a Mormon just waiting for the right missionary to come along and baptize me into the Church. I became a Mormon because it is the true Church of Jesus Christ and I know this because I asked and my prayer was answered. There is a bit more to it than that but suffice to say that our Heavenly Father does answer us when we ask. This is the only Church in the world that is built upon the foundations Christ laid out for us. And I am a Mormon because Mormons are awesome! There is much more to it than just that but when it comes right down to it this is where God wanted me to be and where I am home. I can trace my family back to people who served Christ so I know this is where I belong. i have a very strong testimony of the Church and love it.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I pray about everything it may just be saying Heavenly Father help me through this day or it may be all the things that I pray to him for because I am so grateful for all of the blessing he gives me. When i need help or I cannot decide something I pray and I ask God to help me, to do his will and to allow me to hear the soft still voice of the Holy Spirit to guide me in my decisions. Prayer brought me to the Church and it has helped me live my life. I know that God never ignores a prayer he either answers it says not now or I have something better for you!

What have you done successfully to shield your family from unwanted influences?

Almost every day i find new ways to bring the Gospel into my families life either with family home evenings or with prayer or with sharing our testimonies at the dinner table or with stories from the book of Mormon and the Bible. We do absolutely nothing on Sunday except worship and spend time together reading the scriptures or playing games or activities centered around the family. We have limited undo television influences and movies as well as cutting out computer and video game times. I do not pick my children's friends but I do ask them to think about why they pick the ones they pick and i make them think about what the Saviour would do in situations where they have a question.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying every day to gain and improve my Christlike attributes so that i can be all that my heavenly Father wants me to be. I help others every chance I get and enjoy spreading the Gospel. I spend a lot of time helping others in whatever issues they may have. i gain great blessing from being unselfish and loving to everyone i come in contact with. I read every scripture, book, manual, article, magazine and any other piece of printed material the Church puts out. I go to Church twice a week to spend time with other members and to renew my covenants with my Savior and Heavenly Father. I spend most of my time reading or listening to Church books or recordings. I serve others whenever I get the opportunity. I share my testimony every chance I get and most importantly I share the Gospel with my children!

What is faith?

Faith is not seeing but knowing in your heart what is and what is true and having the ability to act even though we cannot see. Faith is love and kindness and believing that Jesus died for us and that our Heavenly Father loves us and that he will answer all of our prayers the way we need not always the way we want.

Of all the definitions of faith I have read or heard, I add the simplest and most complete to me, which is the Love of Christ. I cannot think of a better way to describe faith. Love of Christ is the substance of hope in something evident we can not see with earthly eyes. It is the faith in Christ or the love of Christ that enabled Able to make a more perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 11:4). That love is why we believe in Christ, it is why we have grace, it is why we have works, it is why we have belief, it is why we have hope, it is why we have charity, it is the very essence of faith, and faith is the very essence of the Love of Christ

Perfect knowledge is worthless without faith. For instance, most of us have perfect knowledge that applying a pointed pencil to paper will cause a mark. That knowledge will not make a mark if we do not exercise the elements of faith called works (picking up the pencil, applying it to the paper, and making a mark), belief (that doing so will make a mark), and hope (that it actually will make a mark). It is my desire that you would exercise works to find out about Christ and study Him, that you would believe on His words and His life and His sacrifice, and that you would hope that He would have an effect in your life. If you exercise this faith, you will truly come unto Him.

Are Mormons Christians?

Christ said that his followers would be defined by their adherence to his teachings. Growing up as a member of the Church, I learned that Christ is The literal son of God and that through His Atonement we can somehow be forgiven of our sin and allowed to enter back into the presence of God, if that is what we want. Everything I ever learned at church or in my home was centered on the life and ministry of Christ.

Several years ago, we moved to the Southeastern United States and encountered the idea that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints are not Christians. Although I don't understand the need to define certain groups in or out of Christianity, especially given The Lord's frequent admonitions not to judge the faith of others, I understand this idea is rooted in some esoteric academic objections to certain gospel principles such as our belief that Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are separate individuals united in purpose and power. My experience has been that this idea is often passed on among those who have not met or do not have close relationships with members of the church.

Once people get to know what we teach and believe and how we live, they come to understand that we are Christians. While, The Lord has asked us to let our light shine so that others can see it and take strength from it, I believe that ultimately Christ, will judge our Christianity as individuals based on the thoughts and intents or our hearts.
