Apryll: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Apryll

I grew up in Wisconsin. I am a wife, and mother of 7. We are a touring family band. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being mother to my 7 children, and wife to my husband. We moved to Alaska 12 years ago and LOVED the rugged lifestyle: fishing, hiking, camping, more fishing. It was here that we were introduced to America's roots music: bluegrass and old timey. Falling in love with the music, we felt led by God to sell everything, buy an RV and tour the south, studying this music from the people that have passed it down for generations. It has led us to all parts of the country, performing in all kinds of venues, but our favorite is singing in churches. We are blessed to share our testimony of the Savior with others through music. We are now in Nashville, pursuing the music industry there. What a beautiful adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a third generation Mormon. Being Mormon is not only an identity, it gives me purpose. Purpose in life. My purpose in life is to share the good news of Christ's gospel, spread joy to others, and to help my own children reach their greatest potential. This is what brings me joy in my life.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

I have spent time visiting the places where Joseph Smith lived, walked, worshiped, and translated the Book of Mormon. I have felt the Holy Spirit witness to me that he was a prophet of God, and his only concern in life was to share his witness of Christ to the world; that He lives and is our personal Savior!

What have you done successfully to shield your family from unwanted influences?

I guess I have adopted the principle of 'raising your child as a calf in a stall'. I have homeschooled my children from the beginning, which has given them a very solid foundation in life. We also did away with television MANY years ago, and instead replaced that time and energy with music practice, sewing, cooking, reading, family outdoor activities. I think the key to keeping your family in the world but not being 'of the world' requires constantly doing good, so there is no time for the bad or negative. Be anxiously engaged in a good cause is my motto!

How I live my faith

Since we left Alaska for full-time road life three years ago, my community and church family has grown to become the entire world. Everywhere I go, everyone is my neighbor. My circle of influence is large and wide and continually growing. Everyone I meet is a brother or sister, and, as such, I want to do all I can to lift others up, help them to find their full potential, and help them to grow closer to God. I love to share the truths I know with others. This is my joy and my song.
