Hi, I'm Bree
I am a band geek. Awful speller and a daughter of a King(God). I am a Mormon.
About Me
I am 20 years old and just finished my AA degree in general studies. My spelling is horrible, I cannot seem to play any sport to save my life, history and english are beyond me. For some I know you may consider it a fault but I LOVE band. I played the clarinet for seven years. I have been the Drum Major for my highschool band.. I loved my ceramics class, and although most, if not all my projects came out alittle lopsided, It was lots of fun. For the last..... who knows how long, 10 years?.... my family has restored old homes. So I have learned quite a bit. Everyting from framing and sheetrock to electrical, roofing and pooring concrete. I get my fair share of injuries; falling through rotted out floor boards, fighting for the attick form rabid squarls ( who didn't win), and steping on rusty nails more times than I care to count. On top of all this I work with a little eight year old girl who has Down syndrom. She is sooooo adorable. I love her too.
Why I am a Mormon
This gospel makes scense to me. It answers all the questions. Why am I here? What is the point of this life? And my personal favorite, Who am I? This question is one that is important to me. I wanted to know for myself why I was so important. If I was important? Why was I created? So I search and search for an answer and kept coming up with the same thought, Because he loves me. Our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us. He created us with different personalities and faces and body shapes. He loved me enough to make me, me! And why would he just put me on this earth to fail? Becuase he loves me he wants me to returne to him.
Our parents love us and even though they must let us go off to college they still call and send care packeges. The same goes for our Heavenly Father. Care pakeges are the scriptures that are chalk full of uplifting messages and guidence and love. Calls are when we pray. We can talk to him all we want, whenever we whant, however long we whant. Think of it as a cell phone with unlimited talk and text.
I know who I am! A literal spirit borne daughter of a living God. Who loves me and wants me to suceed. He will not allow us to fail so long as we put our faith in him. He has given us every opportunity and tool to suceed and return to him. And because we are his children we can have everything he has to give us. This is our inharitance as long as we live up to his name (Exodus 34:6-7). We cannot become purfect in this life, but we can try. We can try to become as he is, we can learn to love and serve with all our hearts, minds and streangth. We can become the best we can be, and our Heavenly Father will be right there, walking that journy with us. Every step of the way. He will NOT leave us. He will NOT forsake us, and when times are hard he is the one who carries us through those times. I know my father lives, he loves and cares for me and wants me to win.

Could you talk about your baptism?
My baptism..... I was 8 years old and so excited. My grandpa performed the baptism and he was a little rusty. The baptismal prayer needs to be said correctly and my grandpa mesed up and then my foot came up out of the water and a few other mishaps but in the end it was done and it only took 5 times to get it right. Then when I was being confermed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost it took two times, my grandpa said it wrong again. So 5 and 2.... wow. My mom jokes that I needed the extra help. Anyway when I recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost I felt this overwelming feeling of love. I felt good inside and warm. I knew I had done this right. Having to go through the baptism multiple times was only encuraging. Each time I went under I could feel just a fliker of something but the last time I felt everything was ok. I was completly clean. I just knew it was the right thing to do.
How I live my faith
As I have mentioned before, I am a busy girl, but I really enjoy every minute of it. I plan a dinner for my church every third sunday. We like to do this for the single adult wards because most of us are in college and away from home. So this gives us a chance to talk to those who are in the same boat as we are. We can meet new people and make friends. I also am a visiting teacher to two young laddies in my church. Meaning I and a friend will go to these beautiful women's homes each month and give them an uplifting message to get them through the month. I am also part of the student council for my Institute. I and my fellow council members plan lunches, devotionals and plenty of activities. In fact we just got through with a Cup Cake contest. That was lots of fun. So many great entries it was hard to pick a winner. I do all of this not just because I was asked to, but because I want to help those around me. I enjoy it. I love to see the smiles on everyones faces when they walk in and see something special.
