I'm a Mormon!!!!!

About Me

I love the Lord and my savior. I work as a caregiver for special needs people and for the elderly. I have been through so many ups and downs in my life. I searched for many years, in many different religions from being baptist, to being nondenomination, protestant, Wiccan, and none of them seemed right for me. One night I prayed to find the truth and before I knew it I was talking to LDS missionaries. I have been a member for over a year. I am so grateful for eternal families and eternal marriages. I am happy to have finally found the truth in this church. I find myself reading scriptures everyday and night and trying my best to live my life righteously.

Why I am a Mormon

I know with all my heart and soul this is the true church. I have not felt the Holy Ghost as a companion until I joined this church.

How I live my faith

One day at a time step by step. Repentance and prayer are important and reading scriptures are important as well. I also attend FHE as much as possible and Institute as much as possible.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We help all that we can because we are all children of Heavenly Father. Despite what religion someone else is we are called to serve for our Heavenly Father through service.

Absolutely not. I personally have been a part of countless efforts to serve those not of our faith. We don't just serve others because we want them to join our Church. We serve because it's the right thing to do. Because it's what the Savior taught and exemplified. I think God often places people in our path when we are in a position to help. Sometimes, this can be a litmus test for how committed we are to living a Christlike life, especially if this "opportunity" comes at a very inconvenient time.

Perhaps we sometimes overlook opportunities to help because we are too focused on the problems staring us right in the face. I do know, however, that the Church makes a very concerted investment of time, talent, and resources in humanitarian aid throughout the world. We are often some of the first to arrive and the last to leave in cases like Hurricane Katrina, Haiti, and areas affected by the Indian Ocean tsunami in December 2004. We often coordinate our efforts with other organizations like the Red Cross or the Catholic Church.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

I think the Church is growing because people see that there can be a better way to live, that they don't have to be bound by the chains of addiction, pornography, dysfunction and broken homes. We know that the most important thing in this world is the family and the future of this world is found in the lives of the children and teenagers we see on the street, in our malls and schools. The best thing we can do is teach them to be honest, upright and moral citizens who can contribute to the betterment of society. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that the family is incredibly significant--so significant that God wants us to be families forever, even when we die. This is huge for many people in the world who realize that their children can really be with them forever. There is tremendous comfort in that, and I think this is why so many people are drawn to this Church. It provides hope and peace.
