Hi, I'm Chelsey
I'm a tree-loving, chemistry-doing, organization queen. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a recently married college student who is studying Physiology and Developmental Biology with minors in Chemistry and Music--sounds boring, I know, but I want to go to pharmacy school, which is cool! I love playing volleyball and tennis, blogging and blog-stalking, watching Psych, and of course spending the rest of my life studying!
I was born in the lovely green state of Washington, and spent my youth living in the beautiful Northwest. I hope one day to move back there--there is nothing I love more than flying home and seeing the scenery make the dramatic change from brown to GREEN!
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because it is the most constant thing in my life that has brought me happiness. Every time I follow the principles of our church, I am happier and can see the blessings in my life. The best thing in my life-my family-will be with me forever because I am a member of His church.
Personal Stories
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
I sometimes have questions in my life, or have problems that I think no one else will understand (even I don't understand them half the time!). However, when I am really focusing and am really praying to have these problems answered in my life, I often get answers through reading the Book of Mormon. For example, one night last week, I was wallowing around in self-pity, thinking that my life was horrible and that everyone was out to get me. As I was reading the Book of Mormon with my husband that night, I came across a verse in the scriptures that said "Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life." What a strong and powerful message--we are free to choose happiness! The Book of Mormon has helped me realize these sort of simple and powerful messages that have influenced my life so much.
How I live my faith
In my faith, I get to magnify my talents. My job on each Sunday is to play the piano for one of our meetings. I learned how to play the piano before first grade, and love this opportunity to practice my skills. I often feel closest to God through music, and enjoy sharing my talent with others through music.
