Nicolee: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Nicolee

I grew up in Tucson. I work with sweet special spirits who have disabilities and I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

I am a junior in college pursuing a career in Nursing and am waiting right now to get into the College of Nursing. I am the second child of seven in my famliy and my family also takes in foster babies. I love helping out with the little children. I work at a day program for adults and children with disabilites and I love it! I love music! I play the piano, flute, and I love to sing!

Why I am a Mormon

Yes it is true that I was born into the church, but I do not think that I would still be a part of this church if I didn't personally believe that it was true. I have not had any big conversion story but rather little testimony builders, such as an answer to my prayer, being healed from sickness, being forgiven for my imperfections, and much much more. This gospel brings so much happiness to my life and I don't think that I could ever live without it!

Personal Stories

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

I know that God does answers prayers. There was this time when I was younger where my Father in Heaven really answered my prayer. I had lost my favorite watch which was really precious in my eyes. I had always been taught to turn to God. So after looking for a long time I went into my room, locked the door, and knelt down and said a prayer that he would help me remember where I had placed my watch. After the prayer I looked once more for the watch but I still couldn't find it. That night as I was saying my nightly prayers I once again asked God to help me find my watch. That night I had a dream that my watch was in the pocket of my jacket. I woke up with a feeling that I needed to look for my watch in the place that I had found my watch in the dream. I had had a busy morning and forgot to look in my jacket for the watch. Once again that night I prayed to find my watch and again I had that same dream. It took me about three nights to finally remember to look in my jacket pocket for my watch and there it was. I was so happy and I knew that God had answered my prayers through that dream. No, God does not always answer my prayers through my dreams but I know that he will answer my prayers!

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I am a very musical person. I play the piano, the flute, and I love to sing. I love to share these talents in church meetings and in other settings. I believe that music can bring the spirit so strongly and it is my goal to bring that sweet spirit to whoever I play or sing for!

How I live my faith

Some may see me as the "Molly Mormon" type. I go to all my activities, I go to church every week, I fulfill the callings that I am given, I read my scriptures, and all that fun stuff. But I think that the most important way that I live my faith is that I am an Example to those around me. One of my favorite scriptures is Mathew 5:15 "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven." I love this scripture because it tells me that I need to be an example for everyone to see! Besides being and example to all those around me, I am called as the Ward Music Chairman in my Ward. I love being able to bring in the spirit through the use of music. Music is such a huge part of my life and I love the sweet spirit it brings into meetings. I put much thought into the music that I bring into our Church meetings so that everyone can feel that sweet spirit!
