About Me

I am a wife & mother.

I've spent the last year living in the United Kingdom with my husband and our son. I enjoy cooking, running, reading, creating, and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormom because it makes me happy. The gospel brings peace into my life, and knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me and wants what is best for me.

I am a Mormon because the gospel is true. I was raised in the church, but as a young adult I prayed and received a sweet spiritual confirmation that this is the true church. That this is Christ's church restored on the earth today.

I am a Mormon becuase it allows me to be sealed to my family forever. Living the gospel enables me to know that there is life after death, and that there is so much more out there that our Father in Heaven wants us to accomplish.

I am grateful to have the church in my life. I am grateful that we have a living prophet on the earth today who gives us modern day revelation that is applicable to our time. I know that Joseph Smith as a young boy saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, and that he restored Christ's church on the earth today. I know that through temple covenants families can be together forever, and that my Savior died for me. That the atonement works, and that it is there for us to humble ourselves and to help us get through hard times. I know that I am a daughter of God and that he loves me.

I am a Mormon because it has made me the person I am today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. In small actions like personal scripture study or family prayer. My faith is linked with everything I do, it shapes how I respond to situations, how I go about my day to day life, how I raise my family, and how my husband and I cultivate our marriage. My faith represents who I am.

My faith has also allowed me the priviledge to be in the Primary (children 12 & under) and teach them about their Savior. Their testiomonies are so strong, and their faith is so amazing. I feel very blessed to get to interact with the youth.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Proxy baptisms are Heavenly Father's solution to the conflict between the need to be baptized in order to obtain eternal life, and the fact that not everyone gets the opportunity to be baptized in this life. We preform baptisms on the behalf of our ancestors, and then our deceased ancestors, in the spirit world, are given the opportunity to choose whether or not they want this baptism to be valid for them.

We have a loving Father in Heaven, whose work and glory are to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. He is our Father, and wants each and every one of us to return to him. Some of His children never had the opportunity to receive the blessings of the gospel and be baptized in their lifetime. Because our Father loves all of His children, each will have the opportunity to accept the gospel, even if it is taught to them after this life. We do baptisms in the temple by proxy so that those who did not have the opportunity in this life to be baptized into the church may receive this ordinance if they desire it.

Are Mormons Christians?

This question always surprises me when I am asked. I always answer with a resounding "YES". We are Christians in every sense of the word. We believe in Christ. He is the head of our church. All of our teachings are based on Him. We have hope in His eternal atonement.
