Hi, I'm Tate Baxter
Born and raised in Utah, and serving a mission in Minnesota. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am from Utah. I grew up in a family of six. Two sisters and one brother. My parents are amazing! I don't know what I would do without them. I love sports. I've played soccer my whole life. I think soccer is the greatest sport in the world. I also like playing basketball and golf. Right now I am serving a mission in Minnesota and love it!
Why I am a Mormon
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because i know that it is Jesus Christ's church. I know that he called Joesph Smith to be one of His prophets. Joesph Smith brought us the Book of Mormon. As missionaries we ask people to read the Book of Mormon and pray to God to know if it is true. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joesph Smith was a prophet of God, and this is Jesus Christ's church. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that it is true. I feel the spirit tell me every time I read it.
I grew up Mormon. So did my parents. I continue to follow the church becuase I have seen happiness and good things come from being a member. I am grateful for all it has done for me and my family. I have only learned good things from the church. The church teaches us to hold high standards and not to fall to the level of the world. I didn't always follow all the things the church teaches. But now, after I have changed and remembered the things that the church has taught me, I have never been happier with my life. I get the best feeling knowing that I am on the right path, doing what God would have me do.
Personal Stories
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
September 2010 my family and I had an experience that tested our knowledge of the Plan of Happiness (or Plan of Salvation). My grandparents were in a serious car accident, and they both passed away because of it. Without the Plan of Happiness in my life this accident would of been a tragedy. But I know that death, in this life, isn't the end. I know that I will see my grandparents agian someday. And it is because of our Savior, Jesus Christ that made this possible. Christ suffered for our sins so that we can be made clean, he also was resurrected so that we can be too, and then one day live with Him and our families agian. The Plan of Happiness is taught in the scriptures and has been confirmed to us through modern revelation. I KNOW that it is true!
How I live my faith
Over the years the ways I have lived my faith have been; going to church every sunday, living by the standards of the church, and attending a church class during the school year. I have seen so many blessings, and so much happiness from doing these things in my life. I know that the Lord has blessed me. One other way I am trying to live my faith is by serving a mission. I am serving in Minnesota, teaching the people that would like to learn about the church. It is one way I am trying to pay the Lord back for what he has done and still does for me.
