About Me

I grew up in the Catholic church and was introduced to the Mormon church by missionaries that knocked on my door. I am the mother of 5 children: 3 boys and 2 girls. My last baby was born when I was 42 years old. I have been happily married for 16+years. i live in Southern California and run a real estate business from home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I want to follow my Savior. He has given his spirit (Acts) that his children might feel his guidance in their lives. I have felt that spirit guiding me to this church and to make covenants and promises with Him. I have felt that spirit confirm in my heart that He Lives and that I can build a closer relationship with Him as i learn more about Him through the Bible and the Book of Mormon.

How has attending Church services helped you?

Attending Church Services helps me to feel the Lords spirit and to feel clean as I partake of the sacrament each Sunday. It also gives me the opportunity to fill responsibilities that I am given.

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

There are so many blessings that come from my faith in Jesus Christ; Peace, contentment, perspective, repentance, my family but I think the greatest blessing that comes from my faith in Jesus Christ is an understanding of why I am here on earth and a purpose to everything I do and say. I have an understanding of my Heavenly Father's plan that he has created for me so that I can return to Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. This understanding helps me when things in my life are hard or don't go the way that I want. For example 11 years ago my father died. He was only 53. I was close to my dad and it was hard to think he was not with me anymore. My understanding of Heavenly Fathers plan helped me to know that our relationship does not end with his death but that I will see him again someday. This comforted me through the times when I felt a great loss.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as I seek guidance from the Lord on how to nurture and raise a 14, 12, 10, 8 and 1 year old. I live my faith as i try to lift those around me with kindness and service. I live my faith as I strive to improve on weaknesses and follow more faithfully Jesus Christ's example. I live my faith as I run a business with fairness and honesty. I live my faith as I strive to support and strengthen my marriage.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

The 10% tithe that members pay goes to build new temples and meetinghouses. There is also a Church Education Program where college students can seek religious education as they attend colleges for secular education. These Church educators are also paid from tithing funds.

The money received from members in the form of tithing goes directly to the headquarters of the church where a council decides what will be done with the money. Here are some ways in which the tithing funds are used:
1. Build, maintain, and operate temples, meetinghouses, and other buildings.
2. Provide operating funds for stakes, wards, and other units of the Church. (These units use the funds to carry out the ecclesiastical programs of the Church, which include teaching the gospel and conducting social activities.)
3. Help the missionary program.
4. Educate young people in Church schools, seminaries, and institutes.
5. Print and distribute lesson materials.
6. Help in family history and temple work.

*It is important to note that tithing funds are not used to pay leaders of the church. All leaders of the church are volunteers and receive no form of pay.

What is faith?

Of all the definitions of faith I have read or heard, I add the simplest and most complete to me, which is the Love of Christ. I cannot think of a better way to describe faith. Love of Christ is the substance of hope in something evident we can not see with earthly eyes. It is the faith in Christ or the love of Christ that enabled Able to make a more perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 11:4). That love is why we believe in Christ, it is why we have grace, it is why we have works, it is why we have belief, it is why we have hope, it is why we have charity, it is the very essence of faith, and faith is the very essence of the Love of Christ

Perfect knowledge is worthless without faith. For instance, most of us have perfect knowledge that applying a pointed pencil to paper will cause a mark. That knowledge will not make a mark if we do not exercise the elements of faith called works (picking up the pencil, applying it to the paper, and making a mark), belief (that doing so will make a mark), and hope (that it actually will make a mark). It is my desire that you would exercise works to find out about Christ and study Him, that you would believe on His words and His life and His sacrifice, and that you would hope that He would have an effect in your life. If you exercise this faith, you will truly come unto Him.
