I'm part of an AWESOME FAMILY! I grew up in Gilbert Arizona, now I'm serving a Mission in Minnesota I love Life! and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the 3rd oldest of 7 kids I have 2 brothers and 4 sisters. I love fish tanks, both salt water and fresh. I have one 110gal salt water reef tank and 8 fresh water fish tanks ranging from 45-5 gallons. I wrestled for 5 years during school, I love wrestling!! I was also in the FFA for 3 years in high school. I love scuba diving, camping, fishing, hiking, dancing, and watching good movies, I like following economics and politics.
Now I am serving a 2 year mission for Jesus Christ, I teaching His Gospel and help people to come closer to Him. I love Christ so much and I want to help others to come to know that He is there Savior and Redeemer, that He is the Son of God, and that He loves them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I asked God in prayer "if He was real, if the Book of Mormon was truly His word ,and if the Mormon Church was His Church restored to the earth." It took a while to receive an answer but when I did I knew it was from God. From that prayer and diligently studying the scriptures have I received a testimony that is the foundation for my faith in The Bible, The Book of Mormon, The truthfulness of The Mormon Church, and the love which Jesus Christ has for me.

How I live my faith

I have made a promise to Heavenly Father that I would keep His commandments and always remember Jesus Christ. and so I do my best to keep that promise. but I'm not perfect and I fall short every day.
in the Book Of Mormon, Christ says:

"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."

I know that through the Grace of Jesus Christ I can "become strong", I can over come my shortcomings. so I do my best to live a Christ like life and i pray for His help.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Do Mormons practice polygamy? no

In the past The Lord has sometimes comanded His people to have practise polygamy. We can see in the Bible that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon had multipal wives. I dont know the exact reason why The Lord comanded them to but He did. In the early days of the church The Lord agin comanded some of His people to practise polygamy. But in 1890 he told them to stop so they did.
Some people dicided that they didnt want to listen to The Lord so the started up there own churches and keeped practising poligamy. these people are not Mormons.

No! The practice of polygamy by faithful Mormons ended September 24, 1890. Mormons today do not practice or preach or in any way condone the practice of plural marriage. If you hear or read about any group of people practicing polygamy you can be absolutely certain that they are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Any LDS church member practicing polygamy today would be immediately excommunicated from the church.

QUESTION: Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

This is a good honest question that deserves an honest answer. My great-great-grandfather who joined the church in 1835 was a polygamist. If you are a Christian that believes in the Holy Bible and ancient prophets, you believe in and accept the fact that God has the right to authorize plural marriage when He sees the need, and He has the right to revoke that same commandment when He sees the need to do so. Many of the ancient prophets had plural wives such as Moses, Abraham, and Isaac. If you believe in the Holy Bible, you must accept this fact. But you also know that for most of human history God commanded men to have only one wife. The key here is to do what God commands, and don’t do what He forbids.

The period of time when Joseph Smith (1820-1844) was called of God to restore the “fullness of the gospel” to the earth, many important laws and ordinances were revealed and restored to the earth that had existed anciently. The power of the priesthood, temple ordinances, and the practice of plural marriage were part of that restoration.

But in 1890 the Lord directed the living prophet Wilford Woodruff to end the practice of Plural marriage. Since that time the Mormon Church has not authorized any such practice. This is a great example that demonstrates how important it is to follow living prophets who receive direction from the living God for our day.

There is a lot of vocabulary that is unique to Mormonism, including the terms we use for our congregations.

A ward is a local congregation, usually made up of between 200-600 members. Wards have specific geographic boundaries, so which ward you attend would depend on where you live. A ward is presided over by a lay priesthood holder called a bishop.

A branch is similar to a ward, except it is smaller. They range in size from a single family to the size of a small ward. Generally, branches are in areas without a significant Mormon population, specific to a language, or for individuals who are single. Branches do not have bishops, but are presided over by a branch president.

A stake is a larger organization in the church. Several wards and branches, frequently around 12, will comprise a stake. The stake is able to support the wards and branches through additional resources and leadership. Stakes are presided over by stake presidents.
