I'm a Mormon. I joined the church in October 2010. I live in Indiana.

About Me

I live in a small city in Indiana. There is a branch here but I attend the YSA branch in a nearby, bigger city. I am a college graduate with a BA in History. I investigated the church for three years and was finally baptised on October 9, 2010. I am 28 years old, single, never been marrried, no children. I enjoy writing, reading, movies, television, and video games.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up without a church. My city has almost every Christian church you could possibly want, but not the one my parents would have wanted to join. I was never baptised and never taught the Bible. I took a course in college about the New Testament. After that I was curious about what the Book of Mormon was and what it said. The next time I saw missionaries I asked them for a copy. After reading it and letting the missionaries teach me I realized that it was not the hokey religion a lot of people said it was. I liked the ideas and values it taught and I liked the people I met in the church. I decided this was the church I wanted to join.

How I live my faith

I go to church almost every Sunday. I refuse to shop, go to the movies, or work on Sundays. I read a little bit from Holy Scriptures almost everyday. I pray about them in adddition to other things and I have faith that God will answer my prayers.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The Mormom prophet is the president of the church. His name is Thomas S. Monson.

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.

What is faith?

Faith is taking action because of a hope in something. Often the Savior asks of us to do certain things or live in certain ways. When we see a stranger in distress, we stop and help them as Jesus commanded us to in the Good Samaritan Luke 10:25. The act of helping is the evidence of our Faith in Christ. We are asked to tithe. Tithing is evidence of our faith. We tithe in hopes of the promises in Malachi 3:10 that the floodgates of Heaven are open to us.
Faith is when we put our beliefs and hope into action.
