Hi, I'm Carrie
I am a wife and mother and love life! I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a wife, mother and grandmother and have been married 33 years. I have 10 kids, 6 girls and 4 boys. Our daughter with Down Syndrome passed away suddenly at the age of 22 about 3 years ago. I have 6 grandchildren and LOVE being a Nana! We adopted 3 of our children from Russia about 13 years ago. All of our children are now adults ranging in age from early 20's to early 30's. I love to ride horses, bowl, work with handicapped kids, knit, walk and do Zumba for exercise. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to be able to have visited many different countries and many places in the United States. I love computer graphics and design just as hobbies. I love art and would love to be a sculpter. I love being a wife, mother and grandmother. It's what I wanted to be when I grew up.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born into a Mormon family that has deep roots in the Mormon faith. My ancestors were pioneers. I have been blessed to have faith all my life. Although I didn't live my life perfectly, I found great comfort, peace and guidance throughout my entire life in the Mormon church. I never doubted it's truthfulness. We have found great spiritual guidance from the teachings of the Gospel and from being led by a true and living prophet. When our daughter died, we were devastated and had much sorrow but found great comfort knowing that we will be together again because of the sealing ordinances of the priesthood. Our marriage is so much stronger because my husband and I have the same common goals and beliefs. Because we believe that we are husband and wife eternally, we work hard to make our marriage a good one. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have faith in His teachings and find comfort in the knowledge that I have of my Savior. I feel His love daily. Our family has had many trials and hardships. We have dealt with death of a child, Epilepsy, emotional and mental issues, and mental and physical handicaps. Because of our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and the hope He brings us, we have been able to be sustained in the worst of times. We know he loves us and is there to comfort and bless us. I am thankful to have guidelines to follow. We and our children have a greater chance of success in this troubled world by having values and morals that help us lead happier lives and to eventually return to live with our Heavenly Father and Savior.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by following the teachings of Christ. I try to have Christ like love for all. I try to forgive quickly and choose to look for the best in others and not take offense easily. When I am struggling with someone, I try to imagine them in the arms or Jesus Christ and it softens my heart toward them. I try very hard to be a good example of Christ like behavior. I pray for the ability to love as He loves. I serve in our church by advising the young women ages 12 and 13. I help keep them active and involved and feeling loved and cared about. I am also a visiting teacher and have a partner that goes with me to teach and look after 3 other woman in our ward local church area. We frequently have church related activities at our home and participate in our ward activities. I serve in the temple as a worker. This is a volunteer job that I work at twice a week. I love this job. I feel closer to my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ when I am in the temple and love the feeling of love and service there. I feel Their love for me and others when I am serving in the temple. My husband and I plan to serve missions to help bring others the happiness that we have.
