Tasanee: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Tasanee

I'm a mother, blogger, 5th generation Arizonian, & a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and wife. I was raised in the Church, but my husband joined the church in his young adult days. I enjoy digital scrapbooking, sewing, and traveling the world. I love seeing the world and meeting people from all over. I have a Bachelors of Science in Molecular Biology.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the LDS church. Served a mission at the age of 21 in the Panhandle of Florida. I went to college. These are just facts that I am a Latter-Day Saint. The reason I am is I know that Christ lived and died for us. I know that THIS church is HIS church. That it was lost in its fullness over time, and was restored in its fullness by His prophet Joseph Smith. The blessings that are found through Christ's authority and the covenants we make are the sweetest blessings you can receive in this life. There is nothing I value more in this whole world. Being a member of this Church may be the outward form of who I am, but the inward is a Covenant Keeping Woman in Christ's atonement.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I could not make it through a day without pray. Rely on the Lord. Pray often. I know that God answers prayers. I know He listens to every pray. I know that no matter what horrible things you think or know that you've done, you are not past the point to pray.

How has attending Church services helped you?

It reminds me weekly of who I am and why I live the way I do. It gives me opportunities to serve others. It helps me make it through another week making the choices I know are right.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

I have had many time when the Holy Ghost as given me comfort and peace at times of discord in my life. That calming feeling and a feeling of peace. I rely daily on it to guide me to do what Christ wants me to do.

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

Pray together often (more than just once in a day). Read scriptures together daily.

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

I feel at peace when I read. Even when I am reading something that I don't feel applies to my life at that moment- my mind is more open to hearing the guidance of the Lord in my life.

How I live my faith

It is a life style. But one that members who truly commit to living don't have to think about. Our lives are like many other Christian households. We get up get ready for our days, we have a family scripture study, pray together, and then go about our days. The choices we make through out our days we try to make reflect that we are followers of Christ. As a member of the Chruch there is a level of commitment to activity that is expected. These are not a burden but a joy to share one's talents and develop talents. My calling (assigned job in our congregation). Is to do the music for the children in church. I teach them new songs, do activities with them, and help them gain their own testimonies of Christ through righteous song. When I was asked to do this calling, it was overwhelming. I was not a mother yet, and I have never been good with children. I have always got the impression they dislike me. But through prayer and doing, I have learned how to communicate and teach these precious children. I love my calling and the job it brings me. I have held many callings so far in my life, and will hold many more. But I am grateful for each one that I've held. I am better for them.
