About Me

I am a mommy of two little boys, a 3 year old and 3 month old. I am wife to a wonderful and hardworking man who works as a ranch manager. I am also a photographer. I love finding and capturing the beauty in the world around me. I love blogging about life's adventures. I love the gospel. And strive to become better at living it every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. Many people might think I am a Mormon because my parents always told me to be. Though my seed of faith was planted at a very young age by my parents, I was always told to find out for myself if it was true or not. And I did. And it is true. And the more I live gospel principles, the more I know and understand about God's plan for me. I am just a simple person living an extraordinary gospel.

How I live my faith

The most important calling or duty that I have in my life right now is that of a mother. With two young, impressionable children in our home, I strive to teach them the principles of the gospel every day. This often begins with things as simple as Loving one another or how to pray.

I also serve as a visiting teacher. I take this calling very seriously and strive to love and watch over those women who are put in my care.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe that all sexual activity should be reserved for marriage and that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

We do not deny anyone the right to choose. Hate has no place in our church.

God has made it clear that such choices and behavior are not acceptable to him. We can't change God's standards. We can only choose to live them or not. At certain times in history, certain of God's commandments have been unpopular. But that doesn't change the moral standard God has set.

Also, families are very important to God. He wants men and women to join their lives and teach and raise children. This is God's way of blessing His children.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

As a local Bishop in the Church, I can assure you that we do not limit our help to members. We perform numerous acts of service to our friends in the local community, and we do it gladly because we know service brings us and them great blessings of happiness and satisfaction. Our world wide disaster relief program brings food, clothing, water, sanitations kits and medications to our nonmember brothers and sisters around the world, quickly and effeciently. As Mormons, we know we are fellow citizens of the world and that all peoples are part of our Heavenly Father's family, and we try hard to act accordingy.
