Hi, I'm Seth
I'm a father of four and a teacher of many. I'm proud to be a Mormon.
About Me
I am a father of 4 children and have been married to the most beautiful, compassionate woman for the past 15 years of my life.
I teach seminary and also teach language at a local high school. I am also working as an administrator part of the day. I enjoy being able to teach anything and my thoughts are if i teach teenagers, maybe it will help me stay young.
I have struggled with the economy like everyone else based on some poor financial decisions I have made in the past, but I have put my faith in the Lord and he has blessed me more than I could ever imagine.
Why I am a Mormon
Although I can say that I have a strong spiritual conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I can also say the one thing I have always enjoyed about being Mormon is that it is a logical religion. To me it has answered all questions I have had and all elements of Christ's original church can be found in our church today. From prophets, apostles, to baptisms for the dead and temples, it is all there.
I am Mormon because the Spirit has testified to me the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I know the Prophet Joseph Smith was called to restore God's Church on the this earth in these last days. I also have a knowledge that we are led by a Prophet of God today in Thomas S. Monson and that understanding that God has a person on this earth that can receive revelation to guide His children is a comfort that cannot be measured.
Personal Stories
What is hope and what do you hope for?
Hope is the constant belief that all things will work out for the best.
My hope is that I will do a good job of teaching my kids the principles of right and wrong so that they can be positive impacts on society and that they will be able to withstand all the negative events that life seems to throw at you.
I hope to instill in them a desire and passion to work and serve those around them and if i can do that, my hopes and dreams would all be fulfilled.
I hope that I can continue to try to make myself a better dad, husband, brother and son. I hope that someday soon I can say that i have done all that I can to repent of the mistakes that I have made and that I can be able to look my Savior in the eyes and be proud of the choices I have made while living on this earth.
Can you think of a specific challenge in your family that Gospel Principles helped overcome?
I think the principle of tithing and obeying the Sabbath day has increase our faith in the blessings the Lord pours out to those that are faithful in these principles.
I recently quit a job that earned a substantial amount of money. I quit this job due to the fact that I missed many Sunday's for work. Although i couldn't afford to lose that amount of money, my wife and i put our faith in the Lord that he would take care of us.
A day before my work started for the year, my boss called and offered me a 120% contract which almost exactly made up for the money I lost in quitting my other job.
How I live my faith
I am currently a early morning seminary teacher that teaches from the scriptures to high school age kids every day of school from 6:30 to 7:15 in the mornings. I also teach the young men's group on Sunday's.
My wife also works in the church and so outside of our meetings on Sunday's we are busy throughout the week with our kids and our various activities both in and out of the church.
The best way I live my faith is to be the best person I can be. It has not always been that way, but lately, things have just come into greater focus and my attitudes towards leading a Christlike life have increased dramatically which has resulted in many small changes in my lifestyle, but have resulted in huge changes in my abilities to feel the Spirit.
