I am mother of 6 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mother of 6 children. I enjoy singing, playing the piano, quilting, reading, playing games, watching movies, and travelling. We have adopted 5 of our 6 children. I love languages and foreign cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother joined the church when I was very young so it has been a part of my life for a long time. I have attended other churches with friends and family but there was something missing from those churches. I have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know in my heart that God, the Father and his son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove. I have been there and felt the spirit confirm these truths to me.

Personal Stories

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

We try to take a few minutes everyday to read scriptures together. We pray at every meal and each morning and evening. Even our three year old says a prayer. We have a family night each Monday where we each take turns teaching each other about the Savior and his gospel.

How I live my faith

I am currently working with the nursery aged children each Sunday. We spend two hours together each Sunday learning songs, playing together, and learning about the Savior and all the blessings we have been given. I love to hear their sweet little voices singing "I am a child of God". What a great thing for a 2 or 3 year old to know.

I also enjoy playing the piano for the choir. Music touches my soul so deeply. I hope that in serving in this capacity I can help others feel what I do, a great love for my Savior.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are Christians. We belong to "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". The title of our church bears his name. He is the foundation upon which our gospel is based. The name Mormon is a nick name, not our belief, not our leader. We believe in the bible as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to the be the word of God. It is another testament of Jesus Christ.

In the truest sense of the word, most certainly yes!
The main belief of the mormon church is that of Christ and His Atonement for mankind. We believe that anybody who wants to can be saved through Christ's Sacrifice for us.
Without Christ, our church would be meaningless, void, and pointless. He is the core of this church. In fact, He is the leader and head of this church.
Some people say we don't believe in Christ, but I wholeheartedly disagree; Christ is everything to us - He rescues us from sin and fear, He is the reason for our being.
We celebrate and rejoice in His life and works and know that He lives today! Christ is risen and is ready to help us in our lives.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. The church advocates principles and doctrine but does not endorse a certain political party or candidate. If you look in the United States Congress, you'll see members of the Mormon church sitting on both sides of the aisle from the current Senate Majority Leader to a 2008 presidential candidate.

However, the church is involved in the public arena when political initiatives intersect with principles of Christ's gospel. When this happens, the church will release a statement advocating certain principles and encouraging members to uphold these principles. This type of action often leads to confusion. Church support for an initiative for religious reasons should not be taken to imply support for a particular political party. These are two distinctly separate activities.
