About Me

I'm a dad, married with three boys and and girl. I sell and lease commercial real estate for a living, and enjoy playing the cello and teaching lessons when I can. I love learning about the way this world works, whether it's domestic or international politics, business, history, or culture, I love to learn about it.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the way I feel when I go to church, and when I study the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel connected at these moments with who I truly am and feel inspired about who I want to become. When I have questions about what is important, I turn to the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and the words of a living prophet and feel deep inside that it is true. When I act on the Lord's commandments I feel happy; a sense of guided direction.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost has prompted me to do things enlarge my soul. I often find that when I feel the presence of he Holy Ghost I feel closer to the people around me, and a desire for their burdens to be lighter. I feel more able to sacrifice my pride to lift others. He has helped me to feel gratitude and express it, and to take action when I have hesitated.

How I live my faith

Music has the power to communicate to ones heart and create meaningful change is a person's life. My grandfather gave my family the gift of music, and I pass that gift along by teaching cello lessons. The ability to express inner feelings through music can help people recognized God's presence in our lives.

At church enjoy leading classes discussions with other men regarding our role in the home as fathers.

Thomas Monson receives inspiration for the direction of Christ's church on the earth. When I want to listen to a man who communicates with God and provides counsel and advice for me and my family I pay close attention to what he says. He addresses the public at large in April and October, during the general conferences of the Church.

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Are you a secular or a spiritual type of person? (1 Corinthians 3:2, Hebrews 5:12.)

Secular answer: The answer you may want to hear is that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began in 1830 on the Peter Whitmer farm in western New York. That’s when the founder, Joseph Smith, made the Church a legal entity in the United States. Many people are satisfied with that answer.

Spiritual answer: This is the same church that has been around since the dawn of time. This is the gospel that Jesus Christ gave to Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, that Christ and his apostles taught while he was here on the earth. Because we are prone to wander, God sends prophets to adjust our perspective and invite us to return, so that we may be truly happy. In order to invite the world back to his path once more, God restored this original gospel to the earth through Joseph Smith. Wherever the gospel goes, the Church is careful to live within the laws of the land. It spans all time and all lands, in any country which allows the Church to be established legally. (Twelfth Article of Faith: We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.)

Everyone on earth may know these truths for themselves, directly from God. It all depends with which answer you’re ready/willing to be satisfied. I have learned for myself that the answers that come from God are desirable above all others. (Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 8:12).
