About Me

I am a wife. I am a mother. I am retired preschool teacher. I am an infertility warrior. I am a natural birth advocate. I am a breastfeeding fanatic. I am a cloth diaper using, homemade baby food making, baby-wearing, co-sleeping momma. I am a small town girl living in a big city. I love to sing, cook, read and create. I am an outgoing, outdoorsy, jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith but through my own spiritual experiences have come to know that I am truly a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. I know that he has a plan for each of us. He sent his son Jesus Christ to be our Savior and Redeemer. God loves us and we are his children. Through Jesus Christ, we can one day return and live with our Father in Heaven. We have a tremendous opportunity while on this earth to serve others, to grow spiritually and to gain a knowledge of who we are, why we are here and where we are going.

How I live my faith

I strive to pray daily, to study the word of God and to follow the promptings of the holy spirit. I live by the knowledge that I am a daughter of God and allow that knowledge to help guide my actions.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Members of the Church are encouraged to be actively involved in their communities. This involvement may even include political activity. The Church is made up members who hold differing political views, positions and opinions. While the Church will support any measure or position that will allow for the free practice of our religion, and the strengthening and supporting of families in general, it does not endorse any specific person involved in political activity, platform, or party.

The Mormon Church does not endorse political parties. It does, however, strongly encourage political participation. We believe that one of God's greatest gifts to his children is the freedom to choose. With this gift comes the responsibility to do our part to make good choices. It is a great blessing to live in areas where we have the opportunity to vote for our leaders.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Jesus Christ. The name of our curch is the Curch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When Christ was on the earth He started a church and it was organized by apostles, prophets, pastors, and teachers. Of course the organization that he set up later fell because people didn't want to hear from them. So later on, in the 1800s, Christ and Heavenly Father found it to be the right time to bring that same organization back to the earth. And they then called another prophet, the same way Christ did when he was on the earth. And that Prophet's name was Joseph Smith.
