Hi, I'm David Trabanino
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
Hi, Im David. My parents are Salvadoreans, I was born in the United States but I grew up in El Salvador.
I'm full of curiosity when it comes to find out how stuff works. When I was a child, I couldn't have electronic toys because I always end up opening them to learn about their functionality. Spiritual things are a topic of great interest to me, thinking and pondering are my thing. I enjoy family relationships. My idea of fun is to spend time with family or sincere people. I like learning from others experiences. I like parks, sunny days, rainy days, and not feeling sick! he-he. I'm married, graduated with a bachelors degree in electronics science and have a job as a field technician calibrating Audiometers, Tympanometers, ABR systems, VNG systems, Instruments to measure hearing and balance. Looking forward to have kids to add to my joy, and as you already know, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Why I am a Mormon
My grandma on my mother's side was the first member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in my family. She took me to church since i was 3 years old, and I got baptized at the age of 8. I heard at Church people testifying about the truth of the Book of Mormon. Even though I felt that what they were saying was truth and I had a good feeling about it, I determined myself that if I wanted to say the same I had to read the Book of Mormon first. So at the age of 14 I decided to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. As I began reading I found out how beautiful of a book it was, and even though some words were difficult to understand, it didn't stop me to continue reading. There is a particular chapter in the book of Mormon that made me say to myself that this book was definitely truth, this chapter was 2 Nephi chapter 9, where it talks about the necessity of repentance and the necessity of a redeemer Christ. As I read the book of Mormon, the desire to do better grew in me, to grow closer to God, our Heavenly Father, and to walk his paths although I'm imperfect.
Personal Stories
Could you talk about your baptism?
When I became 8 years old, I knew I could get baptized. Although I was very young, I wanted to do it, my grandma taught me that baptism cleans us and it is like getting a new shirt, clean and spotless, and now I have to make sure I keep it clean from the world. The day I got baptized I was very happy.
How I live my faith
As my faith in Christ grew stronger, my desire to repent grew more and more, meaning, I wanted to change for the better and make our Heavenly Father happy. This desire led me to prepare myself to go on a mission and share what I had felt. I served as a missionary at the age of 19 in Central America, Honduras. Married in the temple at the age of 26 with a sweet mormon girl of the same Church as I. I love the teachings of Jesus Christ, I love the way the Church leads our lives through prophets and apostles to lead us in this latter days in preparation of the second coming of Christ. I love the teachings of not harming our bodies and spirits with harmful substances like alcohol, tobacco, coffee, tea and drugs. Plus the many other teachings like tithing, Chastity moral values, fidelity to ones wife, virtue, etc.
