About Me

I'm currently a university graduate looking for a job. I majored in Theatre Education and hope to teach high school theatre this coming Fall.

I grew up in Texas and will always consider home.

I love theatre. I love how it can teach, edify, expose, entertain, motivate, and change us. I enjoy acting, directing and stage managing.

A year ago I travelled to London and Ireland. It changed my life. I loved being so immersed in a culture and history that was not my own. Over the course of 6 weeks, I saw 35 shows. I look forward to my backpacking trip to Europe that I am planning with my buddy next summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I know being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is what makes me happy. When I am active and involved and living according to the teachings of Christ, there is peace and my life and I can feel of Christ's love.

The Spirit has testified to me again and again not only that this church is where I'm supposed to be, but that it is true.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a Family Home Evening group leader in my student ward, which means I help organize a lesson, activity, and treat every monday night for a small group of people.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship our risen Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ and God our Eternal Father. We hold Joseph Smith in the same regaurd that the Children of Israel held Moses in the Old Testement. He is a great man, and we love, respect and look up him as a Prophet of God, but he can not bring us salvation. That is only done through our Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the head of this, His true Church.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

There are doctrinal answers to why we believe we need a Savior to redeem us from the Fall of Adam and to return us to our Father in Heaven that you'll probably come across here. But let me tell you why I need a Savior personally and what He does for me. Christ suffered personally for my pains, sorrows, and sins so that if I ask Him too, He can take them from me. I have been the victim of abuse in my life, and yet through Him I have been able to lay it all at His feet, freely forgive, feel peace, find love, and understand how important negative life experiences can be in teaching us humility. Daily He takes my pain and replaces it with pure love so that I am no longer a victim, but a victor. I need a Savior because He knows me, and through him my flaws become strengths and my pain becomes peace.
