About Me

I love to work with my hands. I’m the type of person who does the job the way it shod to be done not always the way it is supposed be. I love being outdoors in the mountains, hunting, camping, dirt biking, shooting guns, and hanging out with loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, it's a hard question to answer, because there's not just one reason. When I was about 14 years of old, a small group of people and I got to gather and read the book of Mormon. When I got home that night, I went to my basement and asked God in prayer if the book of Mormon was true. The feelings of pure joy and then, that seem to pulsate through my body, starting through my heart and working its way out! It’s something that I know that it is from God. At that same time there was absolutely no doubt that the book of Mormon was true and because it is true Joseph Smith is a true prophet who translated it through the gift and power of god, and it testifies to me that God lives and that Jesus Christ is my Savior

I live my faith by going day to day trying to be more like my savior then I was Previously

What is a ward/stake/branch?

The church is broken up in to smaller areas by location A.K.A. a ward or branch wane the branch get big it becomes a ward and wane the ward gets big they are spelt wane they spelt and you wane you have a number of wards they are made a stake. This it don so there is a more unity in the church

There is a lot of vocabulary that is unique to Mormonism, including the terms we use for our congregations.

A ward is a local congregation, usually made up of between 200-600 members. Wards have specific geographic boundaries, so which ward you attend would depend on where you live. A ward is presided over by a lay priesthood holder called a bishop.

A branch is similar to a ward, except it is smaller. They range in size from a single family to the size of a small ward. Generally, branches are in areas without a significant Mormon population, specific to a language, or for individuals who are single. Branches do not have bishops, but are presided over by a branch president.

A stake is a larger organization in the church. Several wards and branches, frequently around 12, will comprise a stake. The stake is able to support the wards and branches through additional resources and leadership. Stakes are presided over by stake presidents.

I identify with Fyodor Dostoevsky, who once wrote: "It is not as a child that I believe and confess Jesus Christ. My hosanna is born of a furnace of doubt." I respect people who find it difficult or impossible to believe, because of the incongruity of so much unjustifiable hurt and pain in the world or because the affirmative evidence for God's existence does not seem compelling. But yet I believe. I believe in a God who is powerful, knowledgeable, loving and good. I see God in the heavens and earth. I see God in the principles of physics, evolution and natural selection, psychology, engineering, mathematics, the arts and the humanities, among others. I see God in the multitude of faith (or nonfaith) traditions throughout the world and among all peoples, giving meaning, purpose and direction to God's children and creations. Yes, there is much inexplicable hurt, pain and injury in the world, and yes, God's respect for our free will and freedom to believe requires that the evidence for God be noncompelling. I do not pretend to know easy answers; I look forward one day to receiving explanations or understanding of those tough questions. In the meantime, I am grateful for the whisperings from God's spirit and for occasional experiences that, to me, seem like "postcards from God", confirming to me God's love and care for me and for all creation. I have never seen God personally, but I have experienced God and I have met God's children and seen God's creations.
