I am an Arizona native. I love teaching children. I enjoy gardening, creating, and eating healthy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high energy mother of four children and wife to a hard working husband. My husband and I love to watch movies and just be around each other. On my spare time, which is limited, I eat a lot of chocolate and read my favorite cooking and family blogs and books. I love to try out new recipes, ethnic restaurants, and fancy hairstyles for my daughters. Someday I wish I could have a cute little house with a huge front porch so that I can swing and drink lemonade while I watch my kids play in the front yard. My husband will be right along side me, hopefully without his laptop.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised by my high school sweetheart when I was 18. The Spirit always drew me to the Church even when I was a little girl. I loved seeing the Temple and knew that God lived there. As I learned to listen to the Holy Ghost, my testimony of the Gospel grew more powerful that I could not deny that the Church is truly the Church of our Savior Jesus Christ. Though I have had a lot of opposition from my family, I still know the Gospel is true. I love the Gospel, I live for the Gospel, and I look forward to a happy future of service and learning.

How I live my faith

I try to follow everything that our living Prophet teaches us. I know that our Prophet's counsel is from our Heavenly Father. Following that counsel helps me be a better mom, wife, sister, and daughter. I fall short sometimes, but I know this is the true key to happiness.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. Every worthy young man is expected to serve a mission, though there is no punishment for not doing so. Also, not every young man is physically or mentally capable, so there are circumstances where a young man may be excused from service. Young women may also serve missions, but are not expected to do so.

Serving a mission means a full-time commitment, leaving family and friends to preach the gospel in a place assigned by the Church.

Quite simply, no. The young men of the church have been strongly encouraged to serve a mission at age 19, and the sisters are able to serve at age 21, but no one is required to serve. We do it because we want to! Who in their right mind would give up two years and pay that's right, missionaries pay their own way to go somewhere they had never been and do all that they do? We serve missions becuase we know that Jesus is the Christ, and we want the happiness that knowledge bring to be available to everyone! So no, Mormons are not required to serve a mission. It's a personal choice to share the happiness and joy they've received from the Gospel.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has no political affiliation, and remains neutral on political activity. As declared by the Church, its purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ, not to elect politicians, and this applies to all the nations were the Church is established. In the same way, the Church does not endorse nor promote political parties, and its members are not directed to vote for specific candidates. Elected officials who are also members of the Church, does not represent the Church's position.

However, the Church does encourages us, members of the Church, to play a responsible role as citizens of the nations, to be informed, and to exercise our right to vote. Also, we are expected to respect others who think different and to participate in dialogue and exchange of ideas to reach consensus.

In the Church, we learn since we are young to be responsible and to seek to serve our communities and families. The Church's programs aims to strength our capacity and willingness to serve others. In this same context, we support leaders and programs which purposes are to make a better world. I personally support leaders who inspire those principles, and pray that whoever is elected would make wise decisions for the welfare of our nations and those of others. To obey, honor, and sustain the law of our country is an important responsibility of every member of our church.
