Recent convert to the Gospel. I started getting interested in Genealogy in the early '90's. Which is what led me into the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I searched several other churchs before joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I became a Mormon because it felt right to me. I believe it to be the still small voice speaking to me.
Whenever I have a question this church has been able to provide an answer to my satisfaction.

How has attending Church services helped you?

Attending services regularly has made me want to be a better person and I believe it has made me a better person. but there is always room for improvement.

How I live my faith

Have held callings as 1st & 2 nd councilor in the ward Sunday School Presidency. I also currently have calling in the Family History Center

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

The Lord sent us here to learn to choose between right and wrong. Pornography like all sins is a matter of choice. Pornography debases both the victim and the user. It can also easily become an addiction. It is best to JUST SAY NO before it becomes an addiction.

Since I do not think legislation will ever be enacted against it, we will have to stop it one person at a time. I think the key to this is placing the proper barriers between your life and the damning influence of pornography. That means staying away from unwholesome places, and putting the proper protections on your electronic devices. It also means controlling your thoughts.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

A lot of people asked me this question on my mission, and, on the flip side, I asked it to a lot of people as well. Many people were surprised when I read them one verse from the Book of Mormon, that being "Adam fell that men might be and men are, that they might have joy." -2 Nephi Chapter 2 Verse 25.
It's simple the purpose of life is to have joy. Now, joy is not fleeting, it doesn't depart when things get rough, it doesn't have negative consequences nor connotations, and you will never be ashamed to be found having a joyful experience. I think of it this way real joy is that which you would be excited to see the Lord join you in your happiness. If it isn't worthy to be in the Lord's presence, it's probably not real joy. Real joy comes from lasting relationships like father and son, mother and daughter, husband and wife, friends that you would stay with forever from experiences which you always look back upon with a happy memory from making promises to God and keeping them from doing that which is right in the sight of the Lord. That is what real joy is, and when you feel that type of joy, you will feel the love that the Lord has for you in that very moment.
