Hi, I'm Andrew
I love biking in -30 degree weather, I love the mountains, I served as a full-time missionary in Minnesota, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I love to be fun. I have a lot of friends and I am always excited to make a new one. I am the second of six kids and I love it. I have two sisters and 3 brothers. I have an amazing family that is always there for me. My parents are divorced are still good friends. I love my parents as well as my step-father. They all do so much for me. I am grateful that I have them all in my life for the support they give me.
I went to school to study Accounting and I plan to continue that education when I go home. I love to read, sing, run, play sports, and talk about the Gospel. I love life and I am grateful that I am on the earth at this time. I enjoy biking and being outside. The world is an amazing place to be in.
I am serving as a missionary for the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. There are around 200 of us serving here right now and over 50,000 missionaries serving world wide. I love what I do and I wouldn't give this up for the world. I have seen so many people change their lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a mormon because of the great joy that it brings into my life. Growing up I have had so much fun traveling around the county, touring through Europe, and being active in all that I do. Even though these activities were fun and I will always remember them, the greatest joy I have ever felt has come from being active in the church. The best experience to relate to this was when my Dad ordained me to be an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On that day I felt that God was watching out for me and that He loved me. I know that when I am doing what our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ ask me to do I find that great peace and comfort that has been promised to us. I am proud to be a Mormon.
Personal Stories
Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.
I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing that anyone can learn in this life or the next. I am so grateful that God has been teaching his children the same Gospel since the very beginning. Adam was taught this gospel as well as Noah, Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Daniel just to name a few. I know that when Jesus Christ was on the earth this was his message to the world. Sadly people rejected him and his Gospel. I will be forever grateful to my Heavenly Father for allowing us to have the Gospel once again. I know that after having been lost for hundreds of years the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through Joseph Smith. He, just as many today, was seeking for truth and turned to the Bible to find it. The Bible teaches us to ask, seek, and knock. This is what Joseph did and he recieved an answer to his question. I know that the Gospel is true and I love it. I know that the Book of Mormon and The Bible teach the truth. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and all of this has come from a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven. To sum it all up . . . The Restoration of the Gospel is the greatest thing to happen to mankind since the ministry of Jesus Christ himself.
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
The Book of Mormon is an amazing scripture. I love it. The Book of Mormon has helped me come closer to God by teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ means having faith in Jesus Christ, repenting to bring our lives in closer harmony with His teachings, being baptized by immersion, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. This is the same doctrine taught by our Savior to the Jews. For me having another record and witness of the teachings and divinity of Jesus Christ gives me so much peace. By reading this book and praying about it I have been able to recognize specific answers to my prayers, I feel Gods love for me, and I have had stronger faith since reading it.
Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you?
I think that one of the greatest teachings of Jesus Christ would be that of patience. I have seen that when I am faced with a trial I can usually do one of two things. One is complain and give up and two is recognize that I can grow from this new trial if I have patience and endure it well. I try everyday to patern my life after Christ and his teachings. He faced every trial that we can face in life and he passed through each and every one with perfect patience. When I think of this it helps me get through anything that is in front of me.
How I live my faith
Right now I am a student at a wonderful university and I am doign my best to progess in life. I am able to do this best by focusing on the important things. Going to church, reading my scriptures, and praying. Life is full of great and new challanges each day. By taking each day for what it is I have been able to see Gods hand in my life and learn from it. Another way I life my faith is by talking about the mission I was able to serve. I was called by God to serve the people in Minnesota and I loved it. I love the people in Minnesota and I am grateful that I was given the chance to get to know so many of them. I live my faith best by focusing on the simple things of the Gospel. As I have tried to bring balance into my life I have seen great things happen.
