I am a Mormon because I follow the true faith as revealed by Joseph Smith, Jun. and the standard LDS Works.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost is my friend and constant companion from whom I receive love, strength, intuitive guidance and moral direction. I am never alone.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week, making sure to partake of the sacrement weekly. I pray with Heavenly Father several times a day making sure to thank Him and tell him that I love Him. I read scripture daily. I follow the Word of Wisdom. I pay a full tithe. I fast and contribute an offering monthly. I share the gospel. I serve as a ward missionary. I lead my family by example. I fellowship with The Holy Ghost and my breathren. I emulate Jesus Christ to the best of my ability. I support my Bishop, my Stake President, and the Holy Prophet and the Twelve.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

No tithing is used to pay church members, instead it pays to build and maintain Temples, churches and schools; help in family history and temple work; assist missionary programs; print scriptures and othe church materials.

The money received from members in the form of tithing goes directly to the headquarters of the church where a council decides what will be done with the money. Here are some ways in which the tithing funds are used:
1. Build, maintain, and operate temples, meetinghouses, and other buildings.
2. Provide operating funds for stakes, wards, and other units of the Church. (These units use the funds to carry out the ecclesiastical programs of the Church, which include teaching the gospel and conducting social activities.)
3. Help the missionary program.
4. Educate young people in Church schools, seminaries, and institutes.
5. Print and distribute lesson materials.
6. Help in family history and temple work.

*It is important to note that tithing funds are not used to pay leaders of the church. All leaders of the church are volunteers and receive no form of pay.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.
