About Me

I am a 30 years old stay at home mom. Mother of three girls. I have twins that are 7 and a 4 year old singleton. I have a salon in my home. I am a hairdresser. I am an Elvis FANATIC! I am married to the love of my life for 11 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a very strong LDS family. I grew up going to church in the Salt Lake valley. I chose in high school to explore things and after much trial and many blessings, I was truly converted to the Mormon church. I always know it was true but wanted to make sure for myself. I have been so very blessed by this gospel. I have a strong testimony of my own about tithing, Book of Mormon, our beloved Prophet Pres. Monson, past prophets. I believe in Joseph Smith and what he saw and did for our church. I believe in our Godhead being three seperate beings. I have asked and my prayers have been answered testifying of the truthfulness of these things. I am greatful for the temple and that through the proper priesthood authority famillies can be together forever. I believe in the power of the true priesthood, and know of it's power in my life and my families life. Beside my family, my greatest treasure in this life is my membership in the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I have found the truth here. I am PROUD to be a Mormon!!!!

Personal Stories

What have you done successfully to shield your family from unwanted influences?

I try and put my family in situations that are in accordance with the Gospel. I spend time talking with my children about thier day and try very hard to keep open lines of communication open. I take worldly questions and turn them into what we believe in the gospel and how we should handle different things, and why we don't say certain things or use bad language. We pray as a family day and night and I know that the Lord protects us through the day from evil thoughts and influences. We are always striving to be good examples in every place we are!

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

I am very open about my religous beliefs. I share my testimony and answer any questions that my friends have because I want them to share in the same joy that I have. I want my friends to be just as happy as I am. I also believe that just because I am a Mormon I will not go through trial, because I do. The difference is that I have an entire support group and written doctorine that I can turn to in time of need. I will share my testimony with anyone.

How I live my faith

What you see is what you get. I am the same person in church as I am at home and in my community. I go to church faithfully every Sunday. I hold a current temple reccomend and try to never let it lapse. I visit the temple often. I talk of the gospel to friends and family even my clients. I am not afraid to discuss the gospel to anyone. I love having people in my home and say "Are you Mormon?", why yes I am and I am glad that you asked.

President Thomas S. Monson is our current prophet. He is called of God to receive revelation for us today. I am grateful for living prophets and apostles to lead and guide us in this troubled world. I know that they are called of God, and if we follow their counsel we will be happy.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

There are no restrictions. Any such practices have been done away with and all the blessings of the gospel are available to any individual who chooses to follow Christ. This is something I have studied and prayed as I have wanted to know for certain that equality is taught in this church. I have come to know for myself that it is. There is a rich history in the church of black and African membership and there are efforts to celebrate this and other cultural diversity.
