Camille: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Camille

I'm just an everyday girl doing an every day job that is thankful everyday that I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work at a Harbor in California and have a beautiful ocean view, and I vacation in the mountains of Utah every year. I feel I have the best of both worlds, I work on the beach, and vacation in the beautiful mountains. I love to ride quads on the mountain roads, walk on the beach during my lunch hour, I like to sew, quilt, and do crafts. I'm an avid reader and love to spend time with my family and friends. I'm also a fanatic baker. I love to make cookies, breads, casseroles, all kinds of warm homemade meals that make my home smell good, and enables me to share goodies with others. This last year I became a runner. I started out slow, and now run 3 miles every morning. It makes me feel fabulous and I'm finding out how many beautiful mornings there really are!

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of the church in my 20's. I love being a Mormon. I love having a structured life and way of learning more of the gospel that makes sense to me. I love the consistency of our gospel practices and that there are ALWAYS messages given especially for me. I appreciate the influence the church has had in my life and feel truly blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I believe in Jesus Christ, that He is my Savior, that he died for me and my sins. That we have a loving Father in Heaven that sacrificed his only begotten son to enable us to have a way back to Him and eternity. I feel every day the influence of His loving presence in my life.

Personal Stories

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you?

"Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God." For me, I want to again see my Father in Heaven. I believe that the Savior was a perfect example in all things, He loved all His brothers and sisters. He served them. He had a pure heart. I want to love others, and serve them in the same way, that I might too, be worthy to see again, my Father in Heaven.

Think about your everyday activities. What are things you act upon each day where you cannot see the end results? How does faith move you to action?

I remember when I interviewed for the job that I currently have I was worried that bad language would be an issue for me. I have always worked so hard to keep my language clear of vulgarity. My parents swore terribly when I was growing up, and it always embarrassed me. When I took this job I asked my boss if we could try to moderate the language in the offices, that I realized that I was a woman alone with a group of men, and that I didn't want to work with bad language surrounding me.
He said, that he would do all he could to protect me from that type of language in the office. And he's been a man of his word. Sometimes, we forget that if we "ask we can receive".

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

The first time I read the entire Book of Mormon, I only understood small parts of it. Each time I've read it, and as I've pondered it, I receive greater enlightenment. I feel that the Book of Mormon helps me put the pieces of the scriptures together, to understand more fully how those that have gone before us have prepared a way ,through these scriptures, for us to be better, stronger and more ready for the challenging lives we live.

How I live my faith

I love attending church and try diligently to share that love of being there with others. I love serving in the church, with the other Sisters, creating uplifting meetings that help us learn how to be better spiritually and temporally. I love singing in the choir, being a part of sharing my love of music with others. I love having opportunities to learn more about the scriptures and to gain insight from others' perspectives.
