I am a marketing professional, ballet dancer, photographer. I enjoy world travel, technology, fitness and learning. I stay as active as possible enjoying a diverse variety of activities.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have taught me well as a child to keep high standards. The best way I can keep my standards high is to follow the example of Christ. I believe we can get to know Him through study, prayer and by serving others. I believe there are many ways we can serve each other. I hope to be an example to others around me - an example of happiness, integrity and honesty. My outlook on life is most optimistic when I follow Christ's teachings, obey the commandments and service others.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

I successfully participated in the church's volunteer service program. I was able to serve full time for two years. I learned a foreign language and culture as I taught gospel principles and shared personal appreciation for having lived the gospel principles. As much as I enriched the lives of others I also benefited significantly from the service opportunity. I would not be where I am at today in all aspects of my life if I had not gone through the experience. I matured over the two years and learned to serve others, communicate and teach. These skills have greatly enrich my life as a professional. The experience is irreplaceable.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

My prayers are answered as I determine goals / objectives and work my way to achieve them. As I work, I pray for many blessings that I need from God to accomplish my goals. As my goals get more ambitious and demand more from me I rely on faith and hard work to achieve them. Step by step my capacity grows, I develop and gain greater faith to pursue more substantial goals. I can always improve on something. Prayer gives me strength and vision to decide what to improve and when.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I really enjoy the performing arts. While in college I was introduced to contemporary dance and ballet. This simple introduction has opened doors of opportunity for technical training and professional performance.

I am personally inspired as I enjoy the arts - both as a performer and a consumer. I find a unique inspiration in the arts. I feel a revitalization of spirit, a re-dedication to live better and be a better example to those around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday, step by step. I take time each day to study scriptures and pray / meditate. I use the time of each day wisely so as to not waste my day. I find myself very productive when I take time to plan ahead my goals and objectives. I'm accustomed to pray about my goals and express my righteous desires to Heavenly Father. I spend time contributing at church teaching other members and helping to coordinate events. I've always enjoyed contributing at church through responsibilities I've been given. I learn new skills and gain new abilities as I serve in the church and community.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

To have feelings of attraction for members of the same sex is not a sin. Acting upon those inclinations is. We all are tempted with things that will draw us away from God's plan of happiness if we act upon them. The choice is ours whether to act upon those inclinations or not.

God's plan for us involves the family unit as the primary building block of our interactions with our fellow human beings. Anything that disrupts the healthy creation of those building blocks will frustrate our happiness in this life and in the life to come.

We believe that all sexual activity should be reserved for marriage and that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

We do not deny anyone the right to choose. Hate has no place in our church.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Women have a divine role, as designed by Heavenly Father before we came to earth. We were given the sacred opportunity to be mothers and to work alongside the brethren of the church to serve, uplift, and strengthen others. Women are powerful and strong forces for good in the world. We must be careful, however. The world today often tries to demean the divine role of womanhood by over-sexualizing women or saying that they should be the same as men. Women and men are different for divine purposes. I don't want to be a man. I know that Heavenly Father sent me here to be who I am because I can contribute to this great work in a way that no one else can. I'm grateful to be a woman today.
