Bird: Hunter, Gamer, Celiac, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Bird

I'm a Mormon, a Hunter and a Disciple of Jesus Christ! I have celiac and have lived gluten free for almost 4 years!

About Me

I am serving a mission right now for the church on the East Coast. The most important thing to me is my family! Everything I do is because of them or with them! I love to paintball, snowboard, wakeboard, kneeboard, hunt, going 4-wheeling, riding dirt bikes/ ATV's and playing video games. I grew up on a small farm on six acres which included a paintball course. My favorite subject is Math. My favorite games include: Age of Empires, Halo, Call of Duty, Gears of War and Mario. I also love ice cream! My plans in life are to major in Mathematics. I am not sure what I am going to be yet but my choices right now are a high school math teacher, a programmer, or possibly a seminary teacher. I am also looking into Cryptonalysis or cracking codes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was raised a Mormon. I continue to believe and attend because I know it is true! I love the values and standards that truly have made me happier. I came to know this church is true by living its teachings, sincerely seeking, and by asking my father in heaven if the things I was taught are from him. I read the Book of Mormon, prayed and received my answer. It wasn't some miraculous vision or anything of that sort. I simply felt comforted and knew the things I have been taught are true. More than anything else, it just made sense. Why wouldn't God send another prophet just like old times? He would and has!

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

The biggest thing I have noticed isn't necessarily attending church but when I miss church. When I attend a feel cleaner, happier, excited, my week goes five times better and I just feel more peace in my life. Whenever I miss I feel like something is missing in my life like I have a hole that should have been filled but wasn't. It is a great blessing to be able to go and be with people who share the same beliefs as I do.

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

The easiest and best way to have harmony in the home is to spend time together. You should also have Christ be a part of everything you do. The thing that brought my family the most harmony was eating dinner together every night and saying a nightly family prayer. When you eat together you stay together! :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving a mission. I have sacrificed two years of my life to share this wonderful message with all whom I come in contact with. I have always been an active member attending church every week. I also live my faith by being an example to my friends and family. Staying strong to my values and helping them do the same.
