I am a husband and father of three boys. I love to spend time outdoors when I am not in front of a computer for work and fun.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was very young. I have enjoyed many years of happiness and peace that the gospel of Christ has brought to me and my family.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

Members who volunteer for missionary work are sent all over the world to provide service to the areas they serve. Missions are traditionally 18-24 months long, but some are shorter depending upon the purpose and the age of those that serve. The service provided on missions, vary from place to place depending upon the needs of the area and the talents each missionary possess. By providing service, the giver and receiver are both benefited bringing them closer together with a deeper love for one another.

I was honored to serve a mission in the Mississippi/Louisiana states. For two years I was able to leave my family, college studies, employment and all other aspects of my life while I served people of the south. I was able to help many people find more happiness in their life and also mine in kind. It was a time that I was fortunate to have and long for a time when I can return to do it again.

How I live my faith

I am one of three leaders for the congregation that I attend. I find pleasure in serving others and the joy they receive as they learn more about their savior Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of life is to grow, experience life and ultimately return to live with our loving
Heavenly Father who wants us to become more like Him.

A lot of people asked me this question on my mission, and, on the flip side, I asked it to a lot of people as well. Many people were surprised when I read them one verse from the Book of Mormon, that being "Adam fell that men might be and men are, that they might have joy." -2 Nephi Chapter 2 Verse 25.
It's simple the purpose of life is to have joy. Now, joy is not fleeting, it doesn't depart when things get rough, it doesn't have negative consequences nor connotations, and you will never be ashamed to be found having a joyful experience. I think of it this way real joy is that which you would be excited to see the Lord join you in your happiness. If it isn't worthy to be in the Lord's presence, it's probably not real joy. Real joy comes from lasting relationships like father and son, mother and daughter, husband and wife, friends that you would stay with forever from experiences which you always look back upon with a happy memory from making promises to God and keeping them from doing that which is right in the sight of the Lord. That is what real joy is, and when you feel that type of joy, you will feel the love that the Lord has for you in that very moment.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

we will talk about how you can be with your family and loved ones forever.
we will talk about how the gospel of jesus christ has been restored to the earth and the evidence of this restoration which is found in the book of mormon.
we will talk about how god continues to talk to his children like he did in biblicial times!
we will talk about the steps that you need to take to insure eternal happines!
we will talk about any other questions you may have about god, Jesus Christ, and about this church.
