Rachel Crane: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Rachel Crane

I am a devoted wife and mother who enjoys all things living and historical reenacting with my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 3 children and the wife to a veterinarian. I grew up in a little rural town and now live in a bit bigger of a town, but with a small town feel. I work at home taking care of my family, yard, and home, although I am a high school biology teacher. I love to sew, quilt, do yard work, learn about history and living things around us, and I am a civil war reenactor. My sweet little family is the most important part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a very dominant LDS town and was taught as a young girl that Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and that we should live the Golden Rule. I am thankful for the knowledge I learned as a young girl, but I did not come to my own true religious conclusions until my college years. Being out on your own makes one really figure themselves out and know what is their very own; not borrowed from parents, grandparents, or neighbors. That is what happened to me; I found out for myself that I really did love and need Jesus Christ, that I really did love and belief the Book of Mormon, that I really did know that we have a living prophet today who guides those that listen, and that I really did want to live the kind of life that would allow me to return to Him and be with my family for all eternity.

Personal Stories

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

One litte activity we just started when school started up again this fall is morning family prayer. I have known that we should be having it, it was just a matter of doing it. My children and I have a quick prayer together right before I take them to school. They have their backpacks on and are ready to go, but we take just a minute or two and ask for help during the day at school, at home, and for their dad at work. It starts the day out well for them after the rush of trying to get them ready for school and it sets the tone for me and the littlest one that stay home. We have seen greater harmony, longer tempers, and more patience with eachother since we started practicing morning family prayer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my children and husband in doing day to day things to help them learn and grow. I try to teach them to love one another and to live each day with Jesus in their hearts. I live my faith by being a good neighbor and by serving in my childrens' school. I live my faith by visiting and taking care of the older ladies in my neighborhood. I live my faith by visiting with the families in our neighborhood and getting to know them and what their needs may be. We have a great neighborhood with many fun get togethers where friendships are made and strengthened. I live my faith by trying to live as He would have me live.
