I grew up in the Arizona desert and married a man from Michigan. I'm a stay-at-home mom with 4 kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my best friend for 11 years! We have 4 kids and my husband is finishing up his last year of dental school. Its a crazy, wonderful, happy life!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me, teaching me the gospel of Jesus Christ. I chose to be baptized when I was 8 years old. I know that this is Christ's true church on the earth. I know because I prayed and have felt the warm, peaceful, reassurance of the Spirit. I want to be with my family forever. I know that the only way we can, is if we make covenants with Heavenly Father inside His holy temple. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins so that we can repent and be clean, and that He died for us and was resurrected so that we, too, we can live again.

How I live my faith

I believe that we are His hands on the earth and there is much for each of us to do, serving each other. Right now I serve in the Young Women's organization over the Mia Maids, the 14 and 15 year-old young women. My favorite part is teaching them in class on Sundays.
In our home, we teach our children the gospel of Jesus Christ. We read scriptures with them daily, even the little ones. We also read together as husband and wife each night. It has brought a special closeness to our relationship. Feeling the spirit together brings us closer to Heavenly Father and closer to each other.
Serving in the church is a privelege and blessing. I know that when we do our best, the Lord fills in the rest.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe 100% that we are saved by grace. Absolutely. Period. No person can be saved by his or her works, no matter how great he or she is, and how many good things he or she did. In order to qualify for Christ's grace, however, we must live righteously, repent, and humble ourselves before the Lord.

We believe in grace 100 percent . No one can be saved, except by grace. There is nothing we ourselves can do to earn eternal life. But, we do believe that we will NOT receive grace unless we live our lives in accordance with what Christ has taught. When Christ ransomed us, became the author of our salvation, and also the perscriber of the conditions of repentance. He's told us that we need to have faith in him, repent, and be baptized for the remissions of sins, so that we may be sanctified by the Holy Ghost. He also told us that we need to endure to the end, meaning continue to strive to live by his teachings, otherwise we cannot be saved by grace. There are many today who teach that baptism is not necessary because it is a "work". We know that Christ set the example to make it perfectly clear. He also said in John chapter 3 verse 5, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
You might be thinking now, "what about those who never got a chance to be baptized?", well Heavenly Father is perfectly fair, and that opportunity will be provided for everyone to make that decision, whether in this life or in the next. The point of Baptism is making covenants. Without making these covenants Christ cannot give us grace.
Hence the doctrine of grace, and doctrine of works, coinside with each other. One cannot be without the other.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.
