I grew up in Arizona. I'm a wife and mother of three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of twins and a newborn baby. I do oil painting and other types of artistic stuff with my spare time. I love decorating my home and making it feel welcoming. I just graduated with a BS in General Engineering and would love to teach engineering someday when my kids are grown. For now I love staying at home with them.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means a lot to me in my life. Christ brings me hope and comfort through hard times. I know that he is my Savior. He has provided me with so many blessings that help me grow closer to him like the scriptures, the temple, my family, my friends and opportunities to help others. Follow Christ has made all the difference in my life.

Personal Stories

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

After I had my twins I went through postpartum depressions. For several months I felt gloomy and unattached to my little babies. It was a difficult time for me. I know that the Savior's love for me is what helped me during that gloomy time. Looking back I realize that he was always there for me, lifting me up and giving me hope.

How I live my faith

I get to teach the two to three year olds. I get to teach them simple short lessons on topics like "Heavenly Father and Jesus Loves Me" or "The Holy Ghost Helps Me". They have snack time, singing time, coloring time, play time, etc. They are such special little people. They are so cute! I love the light in their little faces!
I also get to be over activities that are held twice a month for girls eight to eleven years old. We make cookies, play games, do crafts, and teach them things. I just started this calling about a month ago so I don't really have a lot of experiences to share here. The girls I am over are very energetic and enthusiastic. I really love doing this so far.
The last thing I can think of is that me and a friend of mine visit another lady in our church each month. We spend about thirty minutes to an hour just chatting and sharing a spiritual message with her. We make sure that she is doing well and help her in anyway we can. She is a wonderful sister who is getting married soon so has been busy getting wedding plans together. I enjoy getting to spend time with her and my companion.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Our prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. I know that he receives revelation from God that guides the whole church. I love him for his kindness and his concern for each and every one of us.

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

There is a passage from the Book of Mormon that can help us understand the doctrine of grace:

"And the way is prepared from the fall of man, and salvation is free... there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah... he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved"

We fully belive in justification and reconciliation by grace - it is an essential doctrine of the Church, and is found repeatedly throughout the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
Anyone who believes in Christ shall be saved and inherit all that the Father has; however, we need to understand what it means to believe - we need to understand the word "believe" as Christ intended it to be understood.

The prophet Joseph Smith taught that faith is a principle of action. Yes, it's true that all we need to do to be saved is to believe, but believing isn't just a verbal declaration - true belief requires action.
Knowing that the world is full of breathable air isn't enough to live - we actually need to act on that knowledge and breathe in order to keep living. Likewise, having faith in Christ isn't just something that we say we have - we have to act on that belief. I can't honestly claim that I have faith in Christ and know that His path is the path to happiness if I'm not consistantly trying to gain that happiness.

We fully believe in salvation by grace, but it's possible to fall from grace if we lose our faith - and if we are not doing the things that Christ requires of us then we do not have true faith.
All we need to do to attain grace is to develop faith in Jesus Christ, but developing faith unto salvation in Jesus Christ is a lifetime endeavor which requires our absolute best sacrifice.
