I keep myself busy with sports, family, work, and church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My main profession and education is in statistics. I work as a data analytics specialist for a Human Resources organization. When I am not working, I spend much of my time working as a member of the stat crew for several sports teams throughout the year. If I have some time to spare, I love to build computers and play with all kinds of technology.

Why I am a Mormon

I have not been able to find a more solid foundation to build upon than within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As many of the world's views shift and change the gospel of Jesus Christ and the beliefs within the church have not shifted. They have been a constant which has allowed me to remain free of many of the vices offered in society today.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving others. I make a special effort to be in a position to help others out. I feel that I have been given many opportunities to succeed and to be comfortable. Through these opportunities, I find many opportunities to lift others when they feel over-burdened whether at church or in my community.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. Our leaders have always operated from the concept that if we teach one another correct principles, we will then make correct choices and govern ourselves. The Church encourages each person to carefully consider every issue and each candidate and to prayfully seek guidance and then to vote responsibily. We are encouraged to be involved with our communities and nation but the Church does not take political positions or endorse parties or individuals.

No. The church advocates principles and doctrine but does not endorse a certain political party or candidate. If you look in the United States Congress, you'll see members of the Mormon church sitting on both sides of the aisle from the current Senate Majority Leader to a 2008 presidential candidate.

However, the church is involved in the public arena when political initiatives intersect with principles of Christ's gospel. When this happens, the church will release a statement advocating certain principles and encouraging members to uphold these principles. This type of action often leads to confusion. Church support for an initiative for religious reasons should not be taken to imply support for a particular political party. These are two distinctly separate activities.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Family is everything to us. Our family spends lots of our free time together because we like each other. Life gets crazy with teenagers, dance practice, after school academic decathlon, usually with a toddler in tow, but no matter what, every Monday night is Family Night.

The kids know that every Monday we spend time together and nothing gets in the way of it. It's our commitment to each other. We bake cookies, have lessons about the Savior, work on personal goals, go to the park, go geocaching, play board games or just go out for ice cream.

We do lots of things together. The point is that at least once a week we spend an hour or two together, just for the sake of being together, just because we love being together as a family. It's not as perfect as it may sound, with all the poking and "she's in my spot," and all the other crazy things family members do to each other when scrambling for a spot in the living room, but we try real hard. It takes effort to make sure we don't miss, but it's worth it.

I'm not sure the kids will remember all the games we played, the places we went or what we did, but I hope they always remember that we loved each other enough to dedicate one night a week to be with each other. And that we spent every Monday night together for as many Mondays as they can remember because family is everything to us, and every member of our family is important.
