About Me

I am a college student with a double major of Visual Art Education and Spanish Education. I am married to my best friend and love being a wife. I was lucky to be born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this faith but I gained a testimony of it's truth on my own. I read The Book of Mormon and pondered on it and prayed to know if it was true and received the answer that it was. The gospel of Jesus Christ has been the greatest blessing in my life. I have gained a knowledge of who I am, where I am going, and what my purpose here on earth is. Like everyone else life has brought me challenges and I have been able to push through them with peace and confidence because of the teaching of Jesus Christ. I believe that his atonement is real and is the greatest gift that God has given to us. I know that anyone can choose to use his atonement and find great peace and comfort and growth through it. I believe that there are prophets today just like in the days of the Bible. I know what Joseph Smith was the first prophet in these days and that he was given the power from God to translate The Book of Mormon. I know that God lives and answers prayers and that he loves each and every one of his children. I believe that our Heavenly Father has so much in store for us on this world and in the life to come after. I believe that families are eternal and we can be with our families forever.

Personal Stories

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

Through reading The Book of Mormon I have learned from the stories that is contains about what my purpose in life is. I have learned that Jesus Christ was sent to save us from our sins and that through him is the only way that we can be saved. I love The Book of Mormon and the knowledge that I have gained in reading it. I can relate to the people that it talks about and understand what I have to do to gain salvation.

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

When we make a right choices God blesses us this enables us to continue to make right choices as we continue to exercise faith and choose to follow God's Commandments we can be blessed. Also if we follow God's commandments he can help us to know what choices are right for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church meeting every Sunday. My husband and I also try and create a home where the spirit is always invited. We have scripture study and pray together and try to have dinners together as much as we can. Our home is also a home of celebration where we celebrate everything from a great grade on a test to birthdays. We want our home and lives to have a positive spirit where we can always be uplifted. Service is also a huge part of my faith as well. Whether it is through my church callings, the community, or through my work when I am serving others it makes me feel closer to God.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

A husband and wife can be together forever. Mormons believe that families are eternal and last in heaven. We believe that through ordinances and covenants we make in the Temple with God that we will be with our families forever. I believe that my husband and I are married together for all eternity!

YES!!! This is one of my favorite parts of the gospel. I believe that my family will live together in heaven. I will know my family as my family members. My husband is my husband for now and for all eternity. My children are my children here on earth and for all eternity. I know that if something happened to one of us that I will see them again. I love this about the church. Before joining, I always had a question about this concept and when taking the discussions from the missionaries this came up. Makes me love the church more and more.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.
