Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with amazing parents who taught me to keep the comandments and love God,but we never went to a church.One day a family moved in down the street and i became friends with them,soon they invited me to Boy Scouts somthing about them was diffent being around them and being in there house was one of peace and comfort i havent felt before.i went to church with them and its been the best decission ive ever made,i meet with the missionarys and meet with some members of the ward who are some of the most amzing people in the world i knew this was the true chruch on the earth i was baptized a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 2001. I am very grateful to be a member and have a strong tesimony of are Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and i know that Joesph smith is a phophet of God and that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored though Joesph Smith and that Thomas S Monson is the phophet on the earth today,this brings me great joy i am soon going to share what has made my life full of happiness on a mission as a missionary for the church to the Tacoma Washington mission

How I live my faith

i do my best every day to be an example of Christ and live his teaching and love to share it with others

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

because of the Book of Mormon which Mormon was a phophet who compiled the writing of the phophets into the Book of Mormon and the name stuck we dont mind being referred to as mormon but not the mormon church becuase this is the church of Jesus Christ and that means alot to us

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Latter-day Saints are all expected to generously give of their time to serve in the church. Service opportunities vary greatly and can include being a congregation's pastor, teaching classes, helping congregants gain employment, or helping watch toddlers in the nursery. These volunteer opportunities are temporary and Mormons often gain a wide variety of experiences throughout their lifetimes. Specific assignments are not sought after, but rather delegated out to a congregation's members after those presiding over the congregation have prayed over the matter.

No one participating in this service is compensated financially, as we all are personally committed to help one another and assist in the church's growth. I believe that this way of organizing a church is ideal because it allows congregants to become closely acquainted with one another through service, frees up funds given to the church to go to more important projects such as building chapels and advancing missionary efforts, and greatly reduces any potential for corruption in the church by removing financial incentives.
