Hi, I'm Jordan
I'm a wife, a mother, and a seamstress. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I have a husband I love and two beautiful girls. I love to sew and create things with my hands. I used to be a teacher and now I'm a full-time mom. I'm a happy person.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I have felt the peace of the Spirit giving answers to my questions. I feel that peace when I pray and when I follow what I have learned to be true. I was raised as a Mormon and continue to be a Mormon because I have prayed and learned for myself that what i have been taught is true.
Personal Stories
Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.
For the greater part of my life I did not know for certain that Christ's original church had truly been restored to the earth through Joseph Smith. I was unconcerned about my lack of testimony because I believed that if there were so many other things I knew to be true, surely the story of the Restoration must also be true. I believed, but I hadn't felt the stirrings in my heart to tell me it was true. It wasn't until I was a missionary and was teaching about Joseph Smith's first vision that I truly felt those stirrings. As I listened to my mission companion share the story I was filled with joy and peace, as well a a knowledge that what was being said was absolutely true. I could feel it. I knew it. I still know it and those feelings are powerful.
I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. I know that he was directed in how to restore the fullness of the church and the Gospel that Jesus Christ established while he was on the earth. I know that revelation is given in this day and age. I have received revelation for myself and my family and I know that the prophet receives revelation for the world. I am thankful for all the blessings that are available to us through the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In what ways have your prayers been answered?
Prayer is an important part of my life. When I pray for answers to questions those questions are most often answered by a feeling of peace or "rightness". I often find answers to questions by reading my scriptures or listening to the words of the prophet. Sometimes the answers don't come for weeks or months, but they do come. I've found that it is important to pray for answers with patience and faith.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by trying to help others find joy and to know that they have a friend. I want everyone to feel included and know that Jesus Christ loves them, regardless of who they are, and can offer peace in times of struggle.
I also teach my daughters our faith. I want them to have the same joy and comfort that I experienced as I grew up.
